Where's the Plus in PlayStation Plus?

I do believe it is a bit too early to be criticizing something that literally just came out this week. At least give it a month to see if Sony keeps up with their promises of all the material we should be getting. This is why I only bought the 3 month subscription to give it a test run and see if it will be worth the year subscription. I personally believe that it will prosper, especially if they keep their promise of adding in-game voice chat soon.

One thing I hate about this site is you will see articles praising something and then just because there was an article praising something, one will come out bashing it. Look PS+ has been out for two days. It's not a glorified discount card. It's doing something the competition doesn't and guess what the best part is? IT'S OPTIONAL. This service is going to make a lot of people happy who doesn't want free games, discounts, betas, automatic downloads, and free game trials? Thanks.

The service is 2 days old and here come all the moaning articles. Sony have already stated that it will be an evolving service , this means that they will be adding features to it as time progresses , early adopters like myself might have been better waiting but i was always going to get this so why bother waiting ? , especially since lbp was offered free ! , why do people complain when things are free.

As for cross game chat , if it gets released on Playstation then i don't see it being part of PS+ , i think Sony will make it a standard part of their service , meaning again it'll br free.

I wonder if PS+ is a trojan horse of sorts? The cynic in me wonders if overtime the gap between the PS+ experience versus the free experience will widen to the point that the free users start feeling like their experience is gimped in some way. Over on the PS forums there is already a divide growing, PS+ users want some way to differentiate themselves from their non paying brethren.

If (and this is a huge freaking if) Sony decides to make us pay to play online it would be alot easier to do if a large section of their player base is already paying, and I'm sure they will do as much as they can to lure folks over to PS+.

I could be wrong though, actually I really hope I'm wrong.

So what do you think?

They will never charge to play online. It would split the community and piss off the customers they've been working so hard to please. Plus its a big draw towards their console. Charging to play for online will never happen with Sony. Especially now with PS+ to help improve the PSN.

I think I'm gonna try out PSN+, I really like the offer of free games and I know that a lot of things will be added within the coming months knowing that the number of users will increase.

Sony forgot about the people that already have LBP or Wipöeout HD, it's not worth getting for them. And Plus doesn't offer much besides the discounts.

Edit @ TwIsT18D7: I'm not paying a three months subscritpion for only one month of good content. There would have to be good stuff three months in a row for me to consider it.

Get trophy's for playing it and everyone can see them once you buy the game, I think being able to play a full game and only having 60mins is a great idea if they add alot of titles to try out.

So far I'm pretty happy with being a Plus user then I am with being a XBL Gold member, mostly because I get alot of free stuff and its funny when your friends ask why you got a + sign by your name.

there is this weird division developing on PSN, people who have PS+ vs people who dont. I've been scouring the forums to see what people who actually have the service have been saying about it. What I'm finding is this weird undercurrent of animosity, an us vs them vibe. I'm sure articles will begin popping up about this in the next few weeks.

Its quite interesting, now we have another sub group of fanboys to deal with, PS3/PS+ fanboys who will not listen to any dissenting point of view about PS+, not even if that voice of dissent is another PS3 gamer.
