crysis is an incredible game man. i got it myself, just not the best graphics running for it, but i dont care. i always wanted to play it, and i finally have a few months ago. i beat it, loved it, and had loads of fun. its got a pretty cool story, and the nanosuit is soooo much fun to use.

on topic: afro samurai was a pretty cool game i thought, and mirrors edge and assasins creed were both amazing. i never played killer7, and def jam icon was pretty stupid.

See, I liked Crysis but can easily see why some would have found such a wildly hyped game a bit disappointing. The enemy AI can be stupid as all hell at times(and others it's brilliant-did they just stick it on random or are North Koreans actually totally barmy and change habits every two seconds in real life?), the story is fine for ages then goes batsh1t crazy post alien revelation and, though very, very pretty, the game does get a bit samey and dull after playing for a bit. As I say I liked the game and upgraded just to play it at decent settings way back when but it wasn't a classic in any area other than looks and there were plenty of flaws to pick at if you were so inclined.

Another thing, surely if someone hadn't got a good enough rig to play it wouldn't it be an irrelevance to them? I hardly think many would bother making opinions up just to annoy fans of the game would they?

Anyway, Killer7 is a FINE game with troublesome controls, ME is a flawed, but clever and good looking, idea that might have been amazing but missed by hitching itself aboard the frustration boat. Having said that I have to say AC1 is crap(most boring game I have EVER had the misfortune to play), Afro Samurai was good for ten minutes and then got amazingly dull and repetitive while DJI was plain stupid.

So, imho, Crysis was rightfully left off this list but 3/5 right(again imhgo) isn't THAT bad is it? I MIGHT have stuck MW2 on myself just for the idiocy of the "No Russian" mission(why is it there apart from stirring up the media? Also, why can't you just shoot Makarov(yes?) in his smarmy back at any point in that mission?)and for managing to have a story with more holes than actual plot, more bugs than the insect house at Regents Park and having more panicky patches than a panicky, patchy thing! However, I still don't see any real point to the article to begin with. So, we get games that aren't great even though the look good? No sh1t, Poirot! You should see my ex. she's absolutely gorgeous, really bright and earns a mint. Sadly, she's also the greediest and most horrible woman you're ever likely to meet.

Things that look good do NOT have to BE good. just the way of the world sometimes.

i can think of a VERY overhyped game that never gets criticized on this site that absolutely deserves to be on that list...IN MY OPINION. and crysis is yours...just like the things on this article are just theirs.

it's just flamebait, ignore it. as for crysis...i love it. the ai isn't the best, but it's no worse than most games i play. only difference is, where in most games the ai only really has to think 2 dimensionally where you're moving in a mostly linear path, the ai has to think in an open world. that provides for a lot more "if, thens" which makes the ai look a lil worse.

and if enemy ai is the only flaw, then it hardly belongs on that list when compared to 95% of all drooled-over "blockbusters"

A game does not get 91% overall based on graphics alone.
Its a sandbox type FPS game...something that is not on consoles.

After two years consoles are still only about 25% of what Crysis can do on a low budget PC. PS3/360 this gen will never see the visual quality that Crysis offers. Consoles owners will have to wait until next gen to see games like Crysis full spec, and by that time Crysis will be 5-7 years old. PC is and always will be about 4 or 5 gens ahead of console, or 10 to 15 gens ahead if you count the Wii.

I don't hate it, I've played it. The graphics are amazing, but the gameplay didn't blowm me away. Simply didn't like it.

But also evey time there's an article about the graphics on a console game such as the PS3, there's a group of PC fans that like to come in and say things like "but PC will alwayz have better graphix, teh Crysis!".

Mirror's edge is one of my favorite games this gen..and you can say it has no replay value but there are lot of time trials that are both difficult and fun..i loved that game!

Eh, Assassin's Creed deserves some of it's hate but not quite as much as it gets. Like... it was repetitive sure, but all the main assassinations were unique and a lot of fun to pull off. The assassinations in the original, all in all, were much, much better than the sequel's. Plus you got that awesome music when you are running.

Assassins Creed didn't suck, it was just a little to repetitive. With the introduction of Assassins Creed they did a great job, but it was missing to much. Thankfully Assassins Creed 2 made up for it, as that game was amazing.

I think it got pretty good grades graphically because it was faithful to it's source material. The cel shading made the game really look like the cartoon series. I was impressed with that. As for the game, entirely mediocre.

Look at the PSN trophy list, I played through the entire game. Besides the amazing graphics, nothing else was that impressive.

I don't agree that Mirrors Edge and Assassins creed were bad games at all. AC could get boring, but it wasn't bad. Mirrors Edge was a great new type of game, gunplay wasn't fab thats all.

Gunplay? That's what made Mirror's Edge so special. It had one of my favourite trophies in any game. Beat the game without using a weapon. 1st playthough, no gun. 2nd playthough... I used a gun whenever I could. Shooting mechanics did feel a bit iffy but that's ok.

I think I'm one of the few people who liked the first Assassin's Creed better than the sequel. I liked it better because it was more of a sim. Yeah, some people may find that "boring" but I felt that the second was wayyyy too gamey. I was very aware that I was playing a game the whole time, rather than being immersed in a (sometimes boring) world.

Assassin's Creed was a great game, no matter how repetitive it was.
Not only that, but Mirror's Edge was incredible. It went out of the ordinary, and it was different, and fun. Gunplay was dumbed down on purpose, I'm sure. Whenever you picked up a gun, the game lost its charm, because guns weren't the point. It was MUCH more fun to run around using only your fists and running by enemies and dodging everything they throw at you.

Mirror's Edge was a great game! The whole atmosphere was great. Almost reminded me of a Matrix....don't know why but it just had that feeling sometimes. Anywho it was really a great game to play. Also, I do free running myself so maybe that is why I liked it lol.

The only games, I played on that list are Mirrors Edge and Afro Samurai. Both are great games, one bringing a new aspect to the fps genre and the other one bringing an artistic style and excuisite voice acting together with a challenging and excellent working gameplay.
I can't understand why somebody who is obviously not that much into games has to write about it.

Killer 7? It was in no way a bad game. I personally think this is a case of judging a games merits by it's sales.

Def Jam Icon? didn't play too much of it can't comment.

Mirrors Edge? Took the fps genre quite honestly a genre that's about as copy and past as you can get and attempted to do something different. I applaud there efforts by no means a bad game.

Assassins Creed? Very repetitive but far from a bad game.

I agree with everything on this list, except for Assassins Creed and Mirrors Edge. Believe it or not, I prefer AC to AC2. I just find Ezio to be a douchebag, and Altair was probably one of my favorite leading roles. Plus, I enjoyed the simplicity; go around, assassinate bad people.

As for Mirrors Edge, this is one of my favorite 360 games of all time. It had ridiculous replay value because every map could be traversed in a different way, it was nice to look at, and some of the action moments were just breathtaking. Plus, it was the very first game I was assigned for review, so it holds sentimental value too.
