40K fansite Bell of Lost Souls hosts an exclusive E3 interview
with three bigwigs from THQ and Vigil studios about the upcoming 40K MMO Dark Millennium. There's not a whole lot of specific information but the interviewer, the Editor in Chief from the English gaming website Game Kudos, got a lot more than everyone else in the press and it's pretty encouraging news for 40K fans.
Alex & Mike talk Biomutant, a game from Experiment 101/THQ Nordiq you likely have not heard of. While the AAA side of the industry tends to homogenization and imitative, cinematic presentation, “AA” games remain creative and innovative in 2021. Drawing on inspirations as varied as Dark Souls, third person shooters & kung fu cinema, Biomutant is Ratchet & Clank on acid, developed by a team of 20 people.
Remember THQ? They published such games as Avatar: The Last Airbender, Darksiders I & II, the Destroy All Humans series, Homefront, the Red Faction series, and Saint's Row 1-3. Almost as famous as their games were the THQ marketing stunts, including a Golden Wii.
PlaySation gamers are in for a treat today! Not only did Sony roll out its “Double Discount” PlayStation Store sale, but there’s also a THQ Humbe Bundle PS4 discount happening too!
Possibly the greatest setting ever for an MMO, it's just perfect, I cannot wait to get my hands on this game.
I wish there had been more details, but the setting is why I thought the interview was important: if they are dedicated to getting the universe built right, as long as they don't totally screw up the gameplay this could be a very sick game.
Combat looks to be actual reticule aiming for guns rather than the typical auto targeting system that most MMOs use, which means it'll be more for hardcore players, which is what I think they are going for, especially after seeing the graphics in this game. I'm sure it wont run on most PCs, and that's fine with me. They don't seem to be dumbing it down for profit, I think they are banking on the fact that it'll be a hardcore game for hardcore PC players, not WoW clone #2134 for "social and casual gamers".
