What feature do we lose now?

when one guy opens up his PS3 and does 'interesting' things with it and posts his 'interesting' findings on the net

and then your master Sony is displeased and removes a feature to stop him

you get angry at the one guy instead of your master.

MysticStrummer5485d ago

you would blame Sony instead of the jackass trying to hack their product.

UnwanteDreamz5485d ago (Edited 5485d ago )

Was there a point to what you wrote? All this stuff about masters and interesting things but you are talking in circles. I suppose you consider yourself very intelligent judging by your condescending remarks.

This is why I am surprised that you don't understand basic cause and effect. The hacker's actions caused Sony to remove the feature. While I may not agree with their descision, I do understand that it was caused by another persons actions.

Should I blame airline companies for increased security in airports and on flights or should I blame terrorists?

Your position is laughable.

neolit5485d ago (Edited 5485d ago )

Good point but your message did not get across well as you assume everybody who defends Sony's action is Sony's slave. Shame on you ;)

@MysticStrummer
come back when you are 12 - It is in human nature to understand how things work and yes, it translates to opening up your console and fiddling with it. And it is in human nature to brag about being able to beat the system.

@UnwanteDreamz
Sorry you lost your last job in the Bush administration. You sank really low, trying to peddle the terrorist FUD crap to young adults and gamers. Really!
On a more serious note - yes, for the increased security crap and annoying experience at the airports, you should blame airport security, airline companies and the governments not the terrorists. Terrorist do what terrorists do, and by changing the way we live and work we already gave them an inch of a win. Terrorist acts should not be covered by media and the government security agencies should just silently kick the terrorists back. The biggest reward to any terrorist group is the media attention they get. Also, do you really think that any of the increased security procedures put in place to mess with the lives of ordinary working people and travelers are protecting you or the planes one bit better than what we had before? Grow up.

Disclaimer for the stupid:
I hate terrorists - they should burn in hell.
I hate PS3 being hacked - I see no benefit in that.
I hate Sony for removing a feature present at the time the console was sold to a customer.
I love my PS3 :)

Eamon5485d ago

MysticStrummer, it is the hacker's product. Not Sony's.

You must have forgot the part where he bought it rofl.

The irony here is, the kids who hate the hacker because Sony punishes them, literally have no idea what the hack is about. They then decide to cry because Sony took away a feature from them for a reason they cannot understand so they blame it on piracy lol.

" Because of these stupid f**king hackers we lose the os feature.Hackers we dont want pirated games on PS3.So GET A LIFE DICKS!!!! "

As you are trying to beat your own score or get more trophies or whatever, these guys try to do the same with hacking.

Looks like you need to get a life as well.

And dont pretend you dont/never play(ed) emulated games.
You are such a hypocrite.

People getting all emotional,
Hackers do not promote piracy, however they do promote homebrew.
And nothing wrong with homebrew. Lots of lil tools that come in handy.
If my orginal xbox wasn't modded i wouldnt be having a media center in my room.

Hacking=/=piracy.
Learn the difference.

Those who promote piracy abuse the work from the hacker.

(This applies to Most hackers)

N4Flamers5485d ago

What are you talking about?

I've never played an illegal emulator in my life. Hackers dont promote piracy because doing so will have them sent to jail. The truth of the matter is they hack systems to play illegal games and do other things. Everyone I've talked to besides you that has a modded 360 uses it to play illegal games.

My 360 was a media center without any hacks. I mean I could stream from my computer, it played dvd's, I dont know what else I would need.

ChickeyCantor5485d ago

" Everyone I've talked to besides you that has a modded 360 uses it to play illegal games. "

Not the hacker doing that, its the free will of the consumer who abuses it.

They hack a system to challenge themselves, not to promote piracy. Those who want to play illegal games will put matters as they see fit.
Hacking usually ends up in a huge community that does homebrew, just look at DCEMU.

And Emulators aren't illegal, but i bet you played some roms on them.
I cant take anyone serious when they claim they never used an emulator. Just can't.

MRMagoo1235485d ago

why dont they challenge themselves by making there own console to d1ck around with or is that too much of a challenge?

Hackers in general are d1cks thats all there is too it ppl that like them are the ones that use hacks in games to in online or get pirated games all in the same boat really losers.

N4Flamers5485d ago

I cant take people seriously who dont think hackers pirate games. I just cant. The general will of the people is not savy enough to mod their own 360's to play pirated games. It's quite obvious the hackers are the ones who hack a system in order to allow this. If they were just challenging themselves then they would keep it to themselves.

My second question was never answered, and I wasnt being sarcastic. I would really like to know what useful function I could put on my 360 that I didnt have before.

Nope I have never played an emulator well anything illegal, but I grew up with games I've been playing since atari most of the time I dont like to look back. The only system I didnt own for too long was a ps2 and that has the only games I would like to play. However if I do get bored enough with my current selection I can just go buy one.

Kushan5485d ago

Don't blame the hacker's for Sony's method of tackling them. Sony could easily patch any hacks they make, but instead they'd rather punish YOU guys by removing features. boo-urns!

UnwanteDreamz5485d ago

Yep don't blame the idiot who gave them an excuse. You should friend him on FaceBook and tell him how cool it was that he pissed Sony off. /s

MRMagoo1235485d ago

yeh blame sony for .........i cant actually think of a reason why, its just plain stupid to blame sony considering they didnt do it blame the retard hackers at least it was only the other OS to go tho and not something anyone cares about.

gta28005485d ago

You'd think hackers are intelligent people...but they can also be total idiots. If I were hacking something why the fuck would I go out and be like "hey everybody, I'm working on a new hack. I just found an exploit in "....." and I'm currently working on making piracy possible". This is what I would do if I were hacker and found an exploit. I'd work on it secretly until it's fucking complete! sorry for my language, but I just think it's stupid to go out and say all these hacking things before the hack is complete. All that will happen is the hackee(not a real word) will go into defense mode and dust the hack off. I'm not saying this because I want to see the PS3 get hacked. I'm saying this because it drives me nuts when people always have to go out and say "OMG, look what I found, look what I'm doing" only to then have their discovery be meaningless after they can't do shit with it for opening their mouth before work was complete lol.

Have fun downloading 25-50 gb.

sikbeta5485d ago

This not going anywhere, hey Hackers, why don't just Deal With the Fact that you CAN'T hack the PS3, god damn you, IF we lose a feature thanks to you a$$hole-nerds, better go hide cos things are going to get ugly for ya...

"Hey I've just found a way of hacking the PS3 through the remote play feature!"

*days later Sony release an update that disables Remote play*

"OMFG what the hell Sony? You fail! I was only having some fun!"

Fucking hackers, please just leave it alone because you're ruining things for the rest of us.

CellularDivision5485d ago

I like how you bend over for Sony, it makes me lol.

"please hackers, dont mess with the ps3 or the great sony will banish features. i dont mind paying for psx classics which i already owned since i first bought them when they first came out"
"xbox sucks because they charge you for online play. who are they to charge you for something that should be free?"
Hypocrisy.

People hack the Xbox and the only feature they take away is online. :/
People hack the Wii and Wii doesn't remove any features. :D
People cant hack the PS3 because Sony REMOVES features. :(

While you are happy spending money on PSX classics, most of us dont feel the need to spend on something you already have. I had to buy FF7 and FF8 just to put them on my PSP, even though I own the hard copies. How is that fair?

Dont you want to save money for the super duper awesome exclusive games?

jerethdagryphon5485d ago

uh if you own a ps1 game they can just use the disc itsp eople who have lost proke scratched disc who buy a very reasonably price digital replacment

as for psp you paying for a change in format

squallheart5485d ago

i agree jereth, your buying a portable format plus you can play the ps1 games on your ps3 still. The only ones you cant are ps2 well i can still have my phat. Thats why they call supply and demand.

The 'Stop Killing Games' initiative is close to its final deadline

Ross Scott—also known as Accursed Farms on YouTube—has been fighting tooth and nail for almost a full year to help spearhead game preservation. Starting after it was announced that Ubisoft's The Crew would be shutting down, permanently ending support for the game, Scott launched the "Stop Killing Games" initiative.

That makes a twofold deadline for the Stop Killing Games initiative. Or, at least, one headed up by Scott: The UK petition, which ends July 14, and the EU Citizens' Initiative, which ends July 3.

M3talDiamond2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

If you live in the EU then Please sign this or our game ownership rights and game preservation is
at stake. I know there isnt much time left but please consider signing the petition

-Foxtrot1d 13h ago

I never knew Ross Scott was doing this

I love Freemans Mind

People whine and in the end don't do a thing. Then whine more when they get screwed some more smh. If this makes it then it'll be monumental for consumers. That Pirate software guy was no help either smh.

The EU Date is the 31st July not the 3rd

Project: Horned Owl Review

From the mid-1980s to the early part of the 2000s, light gun rail shooters were a staple in both arcade and home system gaming. Arguably, the genre started to really hit its stride in the mid-1990s. While games like Time Crisis, Virtual Cop, and House of the Dead, among others, dominated both the home system and arcade space, some one relegated to only home game systems. Today, we’ll be talking about a little-known cult game published by Sony called Project: Horned Owl. This game was developed by Alfa Systems, and all in all, this is a fun game.
