The PS3's 3D feature—upgradeable via a software update for every PS3 out there—is actually pretty decent. Not only did we see it live, working, on a giant projection screen, but on a smaller HDTV in front of us.

It sounded to me like they thought it was cool, but at the same time are not so sure that it is worth the expense.
That is the impression that I got, anyway.

3D needs to be a lot more than "pretty decent" before people will be willing to shell out megabucks for it.

I'm pretty sure everyone is just waiting for big hitter to make 3D worth getting. I mean there need to be more Avatar like movies and 3D games that go beyond whats possible in 2D. Maybe the 3DS will be a good mini-playground to try ideas before they work on something more expensive.

That I think has more to do with 3DTV technology than the PS3. When 3DTVs that don't require glasses are out it will still work fine so it's only a matter of time.

Why do people complain about 3D?? People complain that 3D sucks b/c its too expensive or b/c they have to wear glasses(boohoo)freak off pricks. These tvs just came out and they will drop later on. It takes time arseholes. I dont mind wearing glasses...there just glasses and its not like your face will be messed up for wearing them you panzy arse losers.

The people complaining arent part of the millions who went to go see avatar or any other movie in 3D this generation. People want this in thier house. i do & it wont be difficult to get.

i mean I wont watch a movie unless its a Imax 3D now. So with Bluray I have to get the most out of my PS3. I already got the bluray 3D player out of the way with Ps3,I already have a great surround sound system, now its the 3DTV & some extra 3Dglasses. True 3D, just like the Movies.

My HDTV can go in the bedroom.

too right mate, i think this is another point of future proofing, sony wernt lying, they keep[ pushing and pushing this gen, they had a shakey start but have been hitting them out the park since 08, cant wait for uncharted 3d gona be massive.
