Long time EA exec leaves company after 24 years

Long-time Electronic Arts exec David Gardner is leaving the firm, just weeks after a company-wide restructure.

An EA rep told Next-Gen that Gardner chose to return to Europe with his family, but the company wouldn't comment on whether or not his departure has anything to do with the mid-June restructuring that split EA into four labels led by individual presidents.

Gardner, who most recently served as executive VP and COO, Worldwide Studios, had been with EA since 1983. in 1987, he helped establish EA's European arm, which generates $1 billion annually today.
