TouchMyApps: Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion Review

TouchMyApps: Having been a “gamer” for over 20 years now, I’ve watched graphics and quality improve year after year. As great as it is to see how much has changed over the years, I’m still a sucker for that classic pixelated low resolution design. Recently, I was lucky enough to be given the chance to review the latest offerings from Artificial Life, Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion.

RIP Chester. You inspired me and many others.

thorstein2877d ago

He tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter

WilliamSheridan2877d ago

Too many great singers and artists are killing themselves. People need to be aware of what depression can do to people.

AuditorGamer2877d ago

While I can't bring myself to the level of depression that would cause one to take their own life (although, I have been close), I do understand that depression is a serious mental illness that needs greater attention. It didn't help that he tried to medicate with drugs and alcohol thus making his condition worse. I feel bad for the 6 children he left behind. His kids should have been his reason to keep living.

Never was a huge LP fan but that dude could sing. Losing both him and Cornell is losing two of the best rock voices in the last 30 years.

gbsrnctaln2878d ago

Sad story, but personally his voice was the worst part of LP.

IamTylerDurden12878d ago (Edited 2878d ago )

Chester could scream sing as well as anyone and LP's first three records were excellent. Oh by the way, Hybrid Theory was extremely progressive, amazing, and influential. The man deserves respect.

FITgamer2877d ago

I wasn't big on them either, but Chester was one the best scream vocalist that ever did it. He could hit notes with insane power and hold them for ridiculous amounts of time also had great melodic vocals. Definitely one the most unique vocalist.

gbsrnctaln2877d ago

Meh...really dont care for his voice. Found it very whiney and grating.

Linkin Park also made a game using Project Spark.

Edit - @ the disagrees, read the description.

biblesosus2877d ago

Yes, this is in the article.

DevilOgreFish2878d ago

I know it's pretty baffling that Linkin Park's whole rhythm was to stand against the pressures in life one faces...and then all of a sudden something like this happens. which sends the wrong message to the ones growing up to his music. It sucks that there was no communication between him and his family about his turning point. obviously this is not the way to handle any kind of depression.

whether it's a serous dream that's been effecting your sleeping habits, giving you a negative perspective. a death of a family member or someone close. communication with your family and friends helps the most in life's darkest points. there is so much to live for.

Angeljuice2877d ago

When you're in a really dark place it can be almost impossible to talk to anybody about it.

morganfell2877d ago

He actually died on Chris Cornell's Birthday.

How pathetic that people are actually disagreeing with you.

RIP. He was very talented.

Glemt2878d ago

Some people disregard age altogether, saying it doesn't matter when someone dies, and it could always be 'too young'. It could also imply there is a right age to die.
But 41 is indeed not an average age for a white male to die in the US.

PapaBop2878d ago (Edited 2878d ago )

Linkin Park was one of the main bands I listened to that converted me to Rock/Metal music.Hybrid Theory is one of my favourite albums of all time. I never managed to warm to any of their stuff after Meteora but I'll be regretting never seeing them in concert for the rest of my life now.. RIP, a huge loss and such a talented vocalist.

IamTylerDurden12878d ago

Minutes to Midnight was really good. It was the last good album, but listen to it cover to cover and it's solid.

Minimox162877d ago

Im with you, I'll be regretting never seeing them in concert for the rest of my life :( :'(

Relientk772878d ago

I've been so upset over this today. Just listened to Hybrid Theory and Meteora, will probably listen to them tomorrow, and the next day too...

R.I.P. Chester :-(

Touchgen Review: Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion

Touchgen: The world used to live in such 8-bit harmony until the evil company PixxelKorp arrived on the scene. They began to advance technology and brainwash people into becoming high-res rather than 8-bit. The members of Linkin Park are leading a rebellion against PixxelKorp but they need your help finding six of their stolen tracks. You must complete a number of missions and defeat bosses to find these six tracks and eventually stop PixxleKorp from dominating the 8-bit world.

No Dpad: Linkin Park 8-bit Rebellion Review

No Dpad:

Linkin Park is one of the more popular rock bands in this day and age, a time when rock has been compromised by labeling artists such as Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber “rock”. But Linkin Park hasn’t thoroughly been tainted by this corruption, although I never exactly took the time to listen and download his music.

But when Linkin Park 8-bit Rebellion appeared into the App Store, I became slightly interested as we both had something in common: the iPhone. So after a few hours of finally sitting down and playing the game, I can’t help but feel mixed with a game such as this. I found some songs by him that I did enjoy, but then again, this is a game right?
