Phil Harrison Should Be the Next President of Xbox

Jon Lynch: "Let’s be blunt and make this as simple as possible Phil Harrison should be the next President of Microsoft’s Entertainment & Devices (E&D) Division. There’s no reason to beat around the bush and there’s no one else better qualified for the position. In all honesty, Harrison is better qualified for the position than the man who recently announced his retirement – Robbie Bach."

Harrison would kill at MS. Their money, an established brand and his experience!

BattleAxe5160d ago

The first thing he would do is scrap the current XBOX 360 design.

and they say that the xbox is not a PS3/PS2 wana be

ikkokucrisis5160d ago

Seeing as how he was a Sony employee for over 10 years prior to working at Atari, I'd say he's probably not a candidate MS could trust...would you?!

don't forget the giant enemy crab
phil had some good ideas like his ideas for the create share genre, ut home was a complete waste of time, i don't even use it anymore.
to be honest 360 is going down anyway, it's becoming very casual soon, it may well sell more but it's essentially selling it's soul for a bigger market share, all the hardcore gamers are welcome to come to ps3 btw as once natal is finished it will be a never ending release of shovelware:(:(

Under Harrisons leadership, the Ps3 had a hard time gaining ground. They got rid of him and now the Ps3 is doing well. If anything, MS should just put someone with fresh ideas in place!

Finch5160d ago

Agreed. With someone with fresh ideas. Harrison aint needed, but i would say bring back Peter M would be wise if anything compared to Harrison. Seems to have been a rough ride for MS ever since he left.

He certainly has the experience and skills.

Microsoft seems good at attracting top talent, so I guess anything is possible.

I do however have to defend the criticism of Rare’s output in this article. Rare has produced 5 games this gen that I can remember, and helped provide the NXE dashboard and avatars.

If Microsoft’s other first party studios were as productive as Rare they would not need to buy any others.

edgeofblade5160d ago

Rare has become pidgeon-holed into kids games and concepts. After the utter flop of PDZ, I feel like Rare has lost their grasp on the core.

I'd love for them to prove me wrong though...

He could also position them for a portable since he helped manage and market the PSP.
