iPhone 4 vs. iPhone 3GS: Comparison of the smartphones

Lol at all the suckers wholl just flock and buy this and ditch their previous iPhone. Typical apple mentality add one or two new features and its hailed as the greatest thing. Like in Jobs' conference when he did video calling its been out for years and yet hes running on about how amazing it is and only possible now as if he created it.

You can take you mentality bull and apply on every major electronics company, at least they don't update it every 3 month a là HTC . Their phones should be flying right now.

I don't mind them updating their products every year but the prices they charge are too high for the tech you get in return.

The iPhone is a phenomenol tech tool. The iPhone 4 is such a step beyond the original. If you don't want it the fine, but don't hate the sale guy for selling his own project. Microsoft last E3 convinced millions of people they are beyond scifi movies with NATAL when it's not. No camera detects emotion..hehe But millions think it does. But on the iPhone. Mobile web conferencing, the HD resolution..these are all things new to the cellphone world. And anyone will tell you that Apple makes the most reliable OS of anyone.

I'm still using my razor 5 years later...I'm not a big phone person and can't just decide if it's worth it to jump on the smartphone bandwagon and get the iphone 4.

There are better phones out there. HD2, Desire, Sony X10. The only good think about the iphone is how it integrates with itunes. Otherwise it would not be that good.

And the multitasking sucks. He forgets to tell you that its up to them if they will allow you app to use multitasking.

I found i like the iphone but once you have used one there is nothing really different about the new one. So if you have not used one before i would consider it but otherwise dont bother.

Tell me why these other smart phones are so much better than this new iPhone? I am not big on phones and definitely not smart phones. A couple of my biggest factors in wanting the new iPhone are my iTunes library, I try to be green (one of Apple's selling points) and Apple stuff just simply works.

I wouldnt listen too much. They are mostly jealous elitests who hate on apple for the sake of it.

Fact of the matter is, app-wise nothing comes close to the iphone and I would consider apps as one of the biggest selling points when it comes to smartphones.

Add to that you want your phone to do internet, email, msging, take photos, videos the iphone will do the job. What more do you need than that and apps?

The one big problem I see with iphones are that they dont support flash and apple likes to keep alot of things close to them (ie. not much customizability). Theyre the only two real issues I found and theyre perfectly managable I think.

On which phone/tablet you can install another os like android and dual boot? on which phone/tablet can you run dos programs, amiga500, c64, snes, atariST, psx emulators? YES not iPhone but Nokia N900. Which i'm lucky to have and running @ 930Mhz instead of factory default 600mhz. We can overclock the phone with custom kernals and add new features. And it's priced slightly lower than the krap iPhone3gs. With 5MP camera, 32GB internal storage only idiots will go for apple products when with same arm cortex processor in it, N900 outshines iphone on almost all fronts.

Is the resale value. No one is going to pay me $200 for a two years old Droid, but I already have several people in the office fighting over who gets to buy my two years old iphone 3G.

At this resale value I can afford to pay $400-500 for a brand new iphone 4 without signing up for another contract. Then in one year sell the same iphone 4 for $350 easily. By then Verizon will have their 4G network in place and the Droids platform should be mature enough for me to make the leap.

I plan on staying with Apple for one more generation but it's clear that their dominance in the market place is at an end with HTC's Evo.
