Im desperately waiting for its release. Imagine PS3 3D games with PS Move ... possibilities are endless. Kevin Butler laugh in latest PS Move tells all about PS Move competitor. Literally awesome.

You are such a negative Nancy...

There is a PC tab at the top of the page. You could just save it as a favorite you know. That way you'd bypass a lot of the console news/opinion/rumor articles.

Ju5484d ago

Wow. Conloles trolling a move article. Now that is new /s

Hey, you think if you type uppercase, your hidden comment will become more visible ? LOL

lovestospoodge5484d ago

no but seriously, i'm excited for move. if it's as big a step forward as everything else sony has made, then im sold!

@Conloles

PC gaming is dead and you know it. So shut the F up and go buy yourself a PS3 but whatever you do, avoid buying something that uses a keyboard, cheap joystick, or something that gets a red light after being heated, ok?

Also, how was life in a cave for the past 4 years? Pretty happy eh?

*thinks of playing an FPS with a mouse..meh*

Ninjews5484d ago

I don't know what you're talking about, but I wish the game developers would put in mouse and keyboard support for the consoles. Fps's are more intuitive with the Mouse and Keyboard control scheme. Controllers have come a long way, but they're nowhere near the percision of a mouse.

Elwenil5484d ago

Being a longtime PC gamer as well as a console gamer, I agree that a mouse and keyboard are ideal for any shooter game as well as tons of others like RTS games. But I think Move could make a huge difference in how you aim in shooters. Accuracy of a mouse with the ability to just point and shoot? That's awesome. I honestly think that if it works as intended, it will soon replace the mouse for gaming when other companies make the same technology for PCs.

lovestospoodge5484d ago

pc gaming isn't dead at all my friend, its just gotten new competitors in the online gaming world. and my most anticipated game since warcraft 3 on any platform has been sc2. and im a HUGE ps3 player

The Lazy One5484d ago

I think the hardest part with games where you have to hit stuff (baseball would be similar) is figuring out where the ball is in relation to the character.

With 3D if they push them together, it would be very cool, but it's hard to gather when to swing regardless of technology when you're using 2D visuals.

snipermk05484d ago

looking very good and smooth. No drunken movements thank god!

vhero5484d ago

You cant actually see the guy that well so its hard to make out his movements as for lag. How do we know if there lag from the controller to the game?? If the is a delay maybe its the game and the way its designed?? I can't see it myself (the lag) but if its there maybe its designed that way? Either way I said it on NATAL articles and I will say it here no such thing as 1:1 motion control its impossible. You can however make it so minor the difference that nobody can see it with the human eye.

Hideo_Kojima5484d ago

yeah like 20ms?

Obviously there will never in the world be 1:1 ratio but than again not even your own body has 1:1 ratio if I pinch your leg it will take around 20ms to reach your brain.

1:1 ratio to me is anything that is so fast that you cant tell even thought its 1:1.1 or 1:1.1 just round it up a bit.

nveenio5484d ago

I agree. We need to SEE both the initial movement and the game's response in order to make an ESTIMATION as to lag. Even then, though, it's an estimation. We can't actually say, "Hey, there's lag," until we get our hands on it.

Also, when Sony says 1:1 tracking, I don't think they're referring to lag. I think they're referring to actually being able to track ever aspect of the Move controller--X,Y,Z position and rotation. I think they mean that there's no information about the position of the controller that isn't relayed to the PS3.

Ju5484d ago

Lag or no lag. The game obviously needs some practicing. But he got some nice strokes there from time to time. Sure, I think the biggest challenge is getting used to the timing (like with every sport) but twisting the angle and playing slice and spin and varying the power for the stroke looks to me like a natural projection of how the sport actually plays.

Blaze9295484d ago

LOL... I see what you did there and I laughed hard. Fanboys need to lighten up - that was hilarious. bubbles

Oner5484d ago

An informative repost of mine about PS Moves "lag" ~

There are 3 different elements that have been discussed and addressed in the media about the PS Move's "lag". Something that certain types of people don't want others to know because they only focus on 1 specific thing to make the biggest troll effect without the missing additional information to make it "seem" valid. That is all they do....Anyway here is what is known so far for those who would like to learn real, proper, information about the PS Move product

1) Button Input Timing ~ no different and EXACTLY the same as a SixAxis or DS3.

2) Non-Graphical Immersion Overlay Timing ~ I.E. playing a regular game with the PS Move like the Bow and Arrow game, other titles of the caliber of Socom (or similar) have minuscule "lag" that is not visually noticeable or decipherable without an input measuring device. Thus a non issue for gaming use.

3) Graphical Immersion Overlay Timing - This is split into 2 parts

a) Table Tennis Type of Overlay where ONLY the paddle is visible in game and your "image" is hidden and not part of the visual aspect/interaction ~ The "lag" in these types of games are akin to #2 of having a minuscule amount of "lag" that may or not be visually noticeable/decipherable without an input measuring device BUT can also be scalable to address some "felt lag" IF present in 2 different areas. On the dev side before a game is released and within a selectable game mode option to specifically tailor/tune YOUR OWN feel. Just like the aiming speed options in a shooter.

b) FULL Live Graphical Overlay with a live scene (as shown in the Anton Mikhailov Wire Frame robot full/half body overlay) ~ The issues in these types of game or augmented reality interaction style types have been shown to have visible "lag" and a small amount of "felt lag" which has been explained simply with the known factors of how the PS3 is doing MANY different things at once. It has to capture you live with the camera, capture the PS Move controllers, calculate where your body is in space along with the controllers and then draw a live image on screen.

That was quite a lot for demo code that was written the night before to accomplish and has since then been explained to be addressed in the same manner of the above that it's scalable and can be improved upon in EITHER or BOTH (as I said before) ~ the dev side before a game is released and within a selectable game mode option to specifically tailor/tune YOUR OWN feel.

The key thing I have noticed and always find odd is how certain people who always post never talk about the accuracy of Move. They always seem to glamorize & complain about the "lag" (again with certain info misrepresented or missing for some reason) but ALWAYS dismiss/omit how accurate Move is...

fr0sty5484d ago

actually, table tennis wouldn't have lag had it not been set on the "Easy mode" like the dev said, which takes additional time to smooth out the input the game receives (essentially hyper advanced gesture control, not true 1:1). if you were to remove that, I'm willing to bet the minor amount of lag visible in the video would go with it.

HopSkotch5483d ago

lol I'm not reading that Wall of text

Oner5483d ago (Edited 5483d ago )

Too bad for you then...I guess you don't want to be properly informed about the subject at hand under discussion? The really funny thing is you actually support/prove my point about the misinformed & trolls ~ Waahh Waaah I r not reed teh wall o txt!

I wonder why?

HopSkotch5483d ago

i really don't wanna listen to your bitching either lol :] comment back all you want, just try not to bitch...k thanks

Oner5483d ago

There is a difference between bitching and defending. I am defending a point I made. You are bitching at it/me. Probably because you are too lazy, immature or biased to open your eyes to some facts that you don't seem to want to learn/now for some odd reason. No matter how you try to backtrack & cover up your "point" it won't matter as your words are here in black and white for all to see how weakly you handled yourself...enjoy ;)

HopSkotch5482d ago

If it's true that move doesn't have lag I'm in.

gamerzBEreal175484d ago

there was lag and there will be lag and its very noticeible :{
i hope its just b/c its not finished

n4gno5484d ago

everybody trying the thing is saying "no lag" and some guys on forums are desperate because of lag...so funny.

fr0sty5484d ago (Edited 5484d ago )

Again, controller smoothing is what is inducing the lag. the guy on the video clearly says it's on easy mode, where they smooth out your input to prevent you from screwing up as much, which surely adds processing time. take it off easy mode, and i'm sure the lag would be gone just like we've seen in the tech demos that featured no lag at all.

and it's definitely not as noticeable as the 150-300ms lag (depending on how many people are on screen) natal experiences. it's right on par with wii motion +, but slightly more accurate and with the added benefit of a camera to provide facial voice recognition, head tracking, on-the-fly recalibration in game, and augmented reality.

fooltheman5483d ago

many people are blind to what Fr0sty said ^^

ForzaGT5484d ago

^this could prove to be the main selling for move and attract the hardcore gaming community,
sony has pulled a winner with this

Hideo_Kojima5484d ago

this wont pull in the hardcore really Precision will pull in everyone.

Everyone expects all the controllers (keyboard mouse gamepad TV remote) to have no lag.

If something has lag its ridicules.

PlayStation Move Controller Used to Perform Surgery on a Pig That Was 5,780 Miles Away

A group of surgeons made headlines after they managed to perform an endoscopic procedure on a pig located in Hong Kong by using PlayStation controllers. It involved the use of a PS5 DualSense controller as well as a PlayStation Move controller.

jznrpg242d ago

There is at least a few good jokes that could come from that title

Cacabunga241d ago

Yet another powerful device Sony gave up supporting. KZ3 move was one of the best motion controller implementation ever

just_looken240d ago

Right the ps move was awesome i have the gun thing from killzone still.

Relientk77242d ago

That's really cool. It's crazy something like that is possible with gaming controllers 1000's of miles away.

Air Conflicts: Secret Wars - PlayStation Move's Best Kept Secret

Why the PlayStation Move Failed

Sony's PlayStation Move may not have been able to contend with Nintendo's Wii, but it paved the way for PlayStation VR's success story.

SullysCigar1370d ago

I use them most days and have for years 🤷🏻‍♂️

They're definitely way past a needed update, but I've got a tonne of fun out of them, so they haven't failed me.

bouzebbal1370d ago

The best motion control platform it's so intuitive.. Died due to lack of support from Sony.. It had some amazing games

thorstein1370d ago

They are used constantly for PSVR games. So, no they haven't failed. Neither has PSVR (or VR in general.)

Bigman4k1370d ago (Edited 1370d ago )

The article was talking about why it ps move failed before psvr came along

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH1371d ago

It failed because it sucked plain and simple.

LOGICWINS1370d ago

I feel that's a bit harsh. To this day, playing Killzone 3's campaign with PS Move/Sharpshooter gun combo is the most fun/immersive experience I've ever had with an FPS.

I think Move was simply not as profitable as Sony wanted it to be, but it didn't "suck".

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH1370d ago

It most definitely sucked. You people can act like it was something special all you want but it was horrible. The entire motion control fad was a waste of resources and time. Ever single motion controller besides the Wii failed and is no longer being used today in gaming. It's ok to admit it...

Minute Man 7211370d ago

@SPEAK

The Move was better that the Wii mote. If the Wii was anywhere accurate as the Move was you could say the Wii was better. Sure it sold boatloads but was it really played consistently??

yeahokwhatever1370d ago

I played it in 3D with the move gun on a 100 inch projector and it BLEW MY MIND. I was exhausted, but i finished the campaign standing there.

SullysCigar1370d ago

"Ever single motion controller besides the Wii failed and is no longer being used today in gaming"

Just no. Games release most weeks (for years now) that support Move controllers. Some ONLY use Move controllers.

Look, I get you're not a fan, but if you're going to rant, at least inform yourself in advance.

LordoftheCritics1370d ago

I would say both Move and Kinect weren't supported properly.

Sony and MS abandoned what could have been amazing.

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH1370d ago

Kinect sucked too. I would say Kinect may have been cool had it worked as intended but it was ahead of it's time. Both Kinect and Move are gimmicks nothing more. I honestly don't see why Sony still implements "motion controls" recent controllers. Who really uses that crap? And to play what?

Profchaos1370d ago

I so t think Sony abandoned the move it's technically repurposed and still supported on the ps5 just for VR

RedDevils1370d ago

Kinect should be kept as media interactive features.

LordoftheCritics1370d ago (Edited 1370d ago )

@SPEAKxTHExTRUTH
Again if it was supported right.

Where even a fast click of my fingers could get an immediate in game response.

It feels trash because we have been shown or lived with bad versions of gesture based tech. Think Minority Report fast. That could be something.

''You people can act like it was something special all you want but it was horrible.''

No one is acting like it was special, I said it could be amazing.

''I think Move was simply not as profitable as Sony wanted it to be''

Like I said, it wasnt supported. Give us a AAA game with precision gestures well implemented into the game and then we can discuss profits.

1370d ago
SPEAKxTHExTRUTH1370d ago

I don't deal in "what if". It wasn't supported right and even if it was it was still a gimmick.

thorstein1370d ago

"Like I said, it wasnt supported. Give us a AAA game with precision gestures well implemented into the game"

You just described every AAA PSVR game. And even the indies have incredible integration. No Man's Sky VR is insanely good.

Silly gameAr1370d ago

And, you can act like it was horrible, but I had a blast with my Move. I had the whole collection of House of the Dead, Dead Space Extraction, and RE Darkside Cronicles, The Fight, and Socom 4, and I would play the hell out of those games I even beat a playthrough of the Resistance 3 campaign with the Move. Getting drunk and playing with friends was a freaking blast.

You can pretend that you had a move and played it all you want SPeak the Truth, but it was accurate, and usually on point. I hate when people act like they've played something just to trash it, when they really just have a vendetta, and think the Move is easy prey for your hate.

Minute Man 7211370d ago

Wait you can play Dead Space with the Move?? I need it

Orchard1370d ago

“You can pretend that you had a move”

I love this crazy idea that if someone has something bad to say about hardware/software - they must be lying about owning it and clearly do not own it!

Because all hardware and software has a 100% approval rating from all purchasers…

P_Bomb1370d ago (Edited 1370d ago )

Shoot I forgot about Dead Space Extraction and Umbrella Chronicles. Had those too. Still do (digital).

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH1370d ago

I have a vendetta against Move? Lmao that's the most ridiculous comment I've read today. I didn't buy it because like I said motion controls are gimmicks. I had a Wii and it was decent enough but a gimmick although successful. I had a Kinect and it too was trash. Don't act as if you know what I have and haven't owned. Move was nothing more than a Wiimote ripoff

yeahokwhatever1370d ago

SO MANY really great experiences for the Move. The Fight was excellent!

Silly gameAr1370d ago (Edited 1370d ago )

@Minute Man

There was a game called Dead Space Extraction that you could play the Move with.

@Orchard. Please don't reply to me, because every time I say something to you, I magically end up restricted. So, just ignore me like I ignore you, so there will be no hurt feelings, please.

"Ever single motion controller besides the Wii failed and is no longer being used today in gaming. It's ok to admit it..."

That is demostrably false.... Most VR games have motion controls and the PSVR uses the Move controllers.

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH1370d ago (Edited 1370d ago )

VR games have a controller most of the time not some magic wand. And VR is not the same as PS move or Kinect. I'm not a fan of VR either. A controller and a couch is all I need for my gaming needs.

Vanfernal1370d ago

@SPEAKxTHExTRUTH

"And VR is not the same as PS move or Kinect."

PSVR LITERALLY uses the Move controllers. Now it's just obvious you have no idea what you're talking about. You're saying Move failed and nobody uses it anymore when it's an integral part of PSVR and is still being used in 2021.

ScootaKuH1370d ago

It didn't suck. It worked but the games just weren't there, that's why it failed.

Father__Merrin1370d ago

The move was excellent it was 1 to 1 precise time crisis was a joy to play aswell as sports champions it didn't hit mainstream as it was an addon unlike Nintendo wiimote

Silly Mammo1370d ago

I wish that someone would have made a proper boxing game. I still have a blast with the Sports Champions boxing, but to have a boxing game that was more in-depth would have been awesome.

Dario_DC1370d ago

Try Creed for PSVR, it's brilliant

OMGitzThatGuy1371d ago

Because it was a uninspired ripoff of the Wii controller without the Nintendo library to back it and didn't try to put any real effort into development such as getting their top developers to make games for it and instead gave tech demos disguised as games to their least talented developers so the best can focus on single player only games.

Ryushaa1371d ago

Except the Move was an idea roughly implemented in the PS2. Yes, I'm serious.
Just search on youtube: PlayStation 2 - Motion Controller (2004)

Nonetheless, just like the whole Wii, it was more of a gimmick than a proper input evolution in games.

jukins1371d ago

Exactly. Its funny time and time again sony is the first innovate. Often at its own peril. Like your example the move started on ps2 taken advantage of by nintendo. Sony buys gakai for game streaming only for other companies to overtake them.

Profchaos1370d ago

Are you talking about the gametrak on os2 which used strings to track your hand position I used to have this and a gold game it was awesome but the game itself sucked if it had integration with tiger woods or something it would be way better the tracking was excellent even back then as it wasn't using guesswork.
However the game was very forgiving and no way to turn it harder and no licensed players or courses hurt it.

99% of the Wii's games were "shovelware", in fact, I think thats what started that phrase..

EvertonFC1371d ago

Socom, killzone, resistance and tiger wood 14 were great with the move but agree lacked more games.

yeahokwhatever1370d ago

There were plenty of games and I'm glad that not every game became a Move game.
