It could be said that what truly defines a great hero is a villain is his challenges and how he/or she met each one. Well I figured let me spit out my top 5 heroes who I think have defined themselves magnificently in the games that I have played

New comer John Marston (RDR) is pretty badass in my opinion.

Great list though. Snake is the king of course. I do think Megaman is cool, but definitely not ahead of Nate or Kratos. But it wouldn't look fair if the top 3 picks were Playstation Mascots.

And as much as I like Drake, there are times when Drake isn't so bad-ass :)

Like when screaming at Elena to lower the rope in UC1. Scary scene and hilarious at the same time. I mean, I'd freak out too. That's what makes Drake so great. He's like us.

The risks he takes are certainly bad-ass.

I just feel someone like Heavenly Swords' Nariko or inFamous' Cole could be on that list before Drake in terms of "Bad-ass"

Now if it's gaming's Best characters, in my opinion Drake's top five easily -- hanging with Snake, Mario, and Kratos

You gotta remember that Raiden has beaten a heaps of RAYs in MGS2...
I mean hell... in Extreme you have to destroy all the RAYs towards the end instead of a few...

Still, Snake owns... but Raiden in MGS4 deserves an honorable mention...

Drake is in know way shape or form a " baddass". Drake is a cool, funny guy. He could have put Altair or Cole from Infamous. Did he forget how Starkiller from TFU brought down an entire ship using the force? Now that was badass. But Drake? No. Heck, Sackboy is more badass than him.

Sure, Snake is alright. But, he sneaks.

Kratos does not sneak. Kratos goes in with his blades of chaos (a very badass name for a weapon) and kills GODS. not just tanks, or helicopters, or random bad guys. He kills gods. plural. and uses one's head for a damn flashlight. Chuck Norris would fear Kratos.

Plus, Kratos isn't really the good guy. Which means he's even more badass. He's still God of War's hero.. he's just. not very good.

He would beat satan at a game of strip poker with the hottest babes in the netherworld for a another chance at life, the winning hand? A Royal Flush with a side dish of Round Kick. Then after he regains his life by defeating the prince of darkness at a game of chance, he goes after David Solid Snake, only to repeat the whole cycle again. It would take till next year to tell the tales of Chick Norris' bouts into hell and out.

Not including his younger self, that infamous mustache ?villain? is one badass guy in my books. Sacrificing his ownself in every meaning of the word, for Naked Snake. He fooled me since MGS1-MGS3 thinkin he was THE bad GUY of the series, only to realize that it was all for Big Boss, the person he met and had come to respect way back in the day through the trials of MGS3. Man, he even druged himself to fool everyone thinkin he was liquid. He has double, tripple, quadruple crossed everyone, and did things without a hint of remorse, but he did what he had to do for our main man Snake *awwwww*
