This week deals with how online co-op a no go was blown out of proportion. Talk of the next Bungie podcast, which will eventually be a weekly podcast. A real working Warthog and how they're improving the energy sword.
I'd be pissed if I was Bungie too, everyone taking a simple sentence on an unfinished game as truth that the game won't have co-op. Thanks for the clarification Bungie...the smart people in the world knew what you meant btw...
my personal take on this: They are adding online co-op, but there is a slight chance that they wont have time, so they are saying not to assume either way so as not to get our hopes up, and face possible backlash for breaking promises.
this isnt related to bungies update, but has anyone seen this gun in the new EGM? looks like sum plasma shoota, can this game please come any soona?
EDIT- thx icewake ; if you also look close at the middle elite, hes carrying what looks like a covenant removable turret. the weapons list in this game is gonna be crazy
Even after reading that, I still don't feel 100% confident that Bungie will have online co-op ready to go in about 2 months time.
So was anything really blown out of proportion? Or did Frankie just try to put a positive spin on the whole situation. I mean really, he didn't say anything different.
He just ramped it up by saying that they are going to fight this thing to the end.
"Halo 3, online co-op is a feature we’re wrestling with somewhere in a muddy and muggy Florida swamp against a ton-toothed Alligator, BUT, WHAT WE HAVEN'T REALLY TALKED ABOUT IS HOW BIG THE KNIFE WE BROUGHT TO THE WRASSLIN' MATCH IS."
The latter part pretty much sealed it for me. Just my opinion.
I'll probably work on sendin' off that email tomorrow seein' as I'm in Miami.
And um...they built a fk'n Warthog! Those WETA guys are a bit insane, I want it.
my guess is that the live-action short clips were originally being used to prove that Neill Blomkamp is a decent director to the movie studios who pulled out of the project. imdb was updated on the 5th of this month saying the the movie is back in production. i think they wanted proof that an otherwise unknown director was worth the risk. and bungie was smart enough to use the short films for gamers to enjoy. just my opinion
I was hoping for some explaination as to why only journalists were allowed to see the single-player demo at E3 in this weekly update. Instead all we get is a load of damage control for the online co-op story and a lifesize warthog.
C'mon bungie, we're the ones who are going to buy the dam game, show us what we're gonna get!!!!
Halo 2 was going to get online co-op but Bungie did not have enough time and there were techinal problems from what I've heard. As for online co-op in Halo 3, I reckon they can do it, if they can't get it into the final game then they can always release a patch adding online co-op mode plus many bug fixes.
Online co op is vital imo, It was the most wanted feature of Halo 2 that wasnt shipped so it would be rather bad not to include it.
Unfortunatly gamers dont often sympathise with the technological difficulties and want the features regardless.
nice warthog ;)
