To be honest, the problem isn't that games are too long; it's that you're making games longer for the sake of saying you have made a long game. You're using mandatory tutorials and cheating bosses to create artificial epics.
For all that your games desperately try to be movies (side note: stop that), you never seem to realize that no movie viewer has ever left the theater saying, "Well, that could have been six hours longer."
We want longer games...and whoever wrote this article want them shorter...? something is not right here!, nevertheless, nice read.
