Lets just hope this breaks the trend of bad video game movies. Also, lets see who they get to play the smoking hot Asari girl in your team

Reibooi5445d ago (Edited 5445d ago )

I watched Feedback the other day and it seems they have a few ideas of what the movie will be. The problem and I mentioned this the other day. Is that everyone who plays Mass Effect has a different view of who Shepard is in both looks and character so having Shepard be the main character of a Mass Effect movie is a bad idea(they mentioned this on Feedback)

The also thought that the movie may not have Shepard at all. It may focus on Humanity's first contact with the Council Races and their discovery of the Mass Effect Relays. That to me would make much more sense as it won't ruin peoples perception of Shepard but still is capable of having a epic story that we haven't seen yet.

ultramoot5446d ago

Matthew Fox as Shepard would be interesting. Better than hiring a non-actor.
Seth Green as Joker is a no-brainer. Voice-actor + professional actor = Win.
Have yet to see Yvonne Strahovski in films, so I'm not 100% sold yet.
Not sold on Denzel as Captain Anderson either. Dennis Haysbert might be a better pick.
Natalie Portman as Jack? No. There's got to be another choice.

Anyway, shouldn't this be based on the first game? If so, then no Miranda, Jack or Thane allowed. Or, they just might go the unusual route and focus on a different timeline in ME universe, like The First Contact Wars.

N4PS3G5446d ago

Something i've learned from all this years is that Natalie Portman is a great actress and she can pull the bad @ss B!tch personality of jack. She might look sweet and innocent but that girl can act.

I would prefer her instead of some bald bimbo with no acting talent.

Ex. Bald Megan Fox looks like a lot like jack:
http://kerrathon.com/wp-con...

But i would rather die than seeing that pos actin in a movie.

ultramoot5446d ago

I know Natalie Portman is a good actress, but I'm not convinced she can perfectly pull of a Jack-persona. Just like Denzel might not be perfect as Captain Anderson although he's a great actor. Acting chops are the most important factors but for a game-movie adaptation like Mass Effect, the physical aspects of the character has to be taken into account too. Like if DiCaprio was to be Shepard. He's an amazing actor, but for those of us who've played the game, he doesn't quite fit the bill.

Myze5445d ago

The casting will all depend on how big the production for the movie is. If it ends up being a middle-of-the road sized budget, they won't be able to get the really big actors, like Dicaprio, anyway. Also, Jack would be a semi-minor character in the game, and there is no way Natalie Portman is gonna be cast as that.

The bigger thing is, Portman (and DiCaprio, Denzel, etc.) will not sign on if the movie script sucks. While I would hope differently, there is ZERO reason to think that this movie will be better than every single other video-game to movie transfer. There has never been a really good one. There have been decent ones made, but even those are not all that common amongst the trash. Even with a very large budget and some really good actors, it appears that that Prince of Persia is receiving some pretty mediocre, at best, reviews.

Quagmire5446d ago

Shephard = Mathew Fox (from Lost to Lost in Space)
Miranda = Yvonne (duh)
Seth Green = Seth Green (another duh! I WORK with the guy...giggidy)
Captain Anderson = Keith David. Nuff Said
Thane = Abe Sapien/Silver Surfer actor would be PERFECT
And the rest...Weta Workshop FTW!!!

ceedubya95445d ago

The Definitive list imo.

darkknight09965445d ago

they do not mimic the stories of ME & ME2 and put the same characters from the game in the movie. ME has a big universe and their a large number of story lines that they can do for the movie.

ceedubya95445d ago

Keith David does the voice of Anderson, and he is no stranger to the big screen. He could easily play this role for the movie.

I really like the idea of Mathew Fox for Shepard. He already has the look, and the guy can act, as we all know.

Well I don't know if it is just me but when I envision sitting down and watching a Mass Effect movie, as a gamer, I would be disappointed with real actors. Being as how Mass Effect 2 was so cinematic to start with why could the Movie not be made with the same engine or video used to make the game and it's wonderful trailers.

chak_5445d ago

WAIT

my shepard was a girl !!§§

ShepardVasNormandy5442d ago

In the original story and books it is a guy

Kahvipannu5445d ago (Edited 5445d ago )

I agree with Quqmire, Keith David must be Anderson, that voice must stay, and he's awesome actor. Also Vanderloo as Shepard is great becouse of the looks, but if they could get M. Meers voice for him, would be great :D But most importantly, since most of gamers don't share same look for shepard, but all share same voice, so maybe Mark Meers would be good desicion..

N4PS3G, agreed, M.Fox would be awesome Jack. But Natalie is good too.

Erica Cerra would be perfect for Ashley Williams by the looks:
http://z.about.com/d/scifi/...

But really good picks, tought most of them are no-brainers.. :D

ironfist925445d ago (Edited 5445d ago )

Would prefer an actress for ashley who DIDNT look like they have a collection of male testicles at their house.

Kahvipannu5445d ago

Huh? Did I miss something? :S

Galaxia5445d ago

I gave you bubbles for the good point about Shepard's looks and voice. But a disagree because Erica Cerra would not fit Ashley Williams.

ironfist925445d ago

lol, its just that the actress looks like that man-eater type of woman.

kraze075445d ago

"lol, its just that the actress looks like that man-eater type of woman."

And Ashley isn't that type?

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine135d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast135d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman135d ago

3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan383d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave383d ago (Edited 383d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
