OXCGN:
"Serious Sam HD is a first person shooter that is not at all like the current gen crop. It does not require you to take cover or work out a strategy to defeat a large group of enemies. It only requires your skills at blowing enemies into oblivion with your double-barrelled shotgun, which, perhaps surprisingly, is actually refreshing.
Serious Sam HD is developed by Croteam and published by Majesco Entertainment (Xbox Live Arcade version). The first two Serious Sam games were released in 2002, which are the games that have been remade into the two Serious Sam HD encounters on XBLA. The game that is being reviewed here is Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter."
Steam's Summer Sale has tons of games at low prices, but here are the best games you can buy without worrying about spending too much money.
Serious Sam Fusion 2017 gives rebuilt games to owners of previous Serious Sam games and includes updates such as VR/non-VR crossplay.
Ross Hartley: "Ross shows Isaac that Serious Sam is pretty dope and we talk about a lot of other stuff!"
I had a lot of fun when I played Serious Sam HD. I don't know why blasting monsters is so fun.
Man there's a blast from the past. I remember playing that on xbox.
Certainly sounds better than most of the other fodder on XBLA as of late
Can't wait for Second Encounter HD on XBLA. I'm a hardcore Serious Sam fan and this remake certainly delivers. It plays more like the original PC versions with a great quicksave system, gone is the treasure and lives system, but you get used to it. It's worth getting just to see how it stands up today and has some excellent lighting and particle effects this time around. Probably one of the most underrated XBLA games up there.
Bear in mind that SS:Xbox still works on 360 too, not SS2 though, unfortunately.
Solid review for Serious Sam HD
