although for me it was AVP2, the first marine level in that game was sooooo creepy that I still haven't gone further than that...lol

Because it was so hard you did feel scared that your character might die. They managed to achieve the sense of being hunted like the films

I beat AvP2 for all species and Farcry. AvP2 was so good in it's day, sometimes I still play it.

Stalker needs to be on that list, the first time i played through it the game was hard as hell. You start with a pistol that can't kill anything and like 15 bullets!

That was a screen of AVP or AVP Gold. I loved that game soooo f*ing much. It was really the only PC shooter I ever got into.

I played the sh1t out of it on Gamespy. I used to be pretty good.

Definatley a die-ing routine though. Those f*ing preds and their f*ing shoulder cannons! They could shoot anywhere near you and you fly into chunks. The preds were so over-powered compared to the rest of the species. Every weapon the pred carries could destroy everyone else. The disc?!?!?! Just throw it and some random chump gets cut in half, then the disc returns to the pred, so he can repeat as much as possible.

Fun game though.

I've only played three of these:

AvP was a cast-iron b!tch to play, Final Doom almost as hard, and Far Cry tried my patience constantly. Still have my copy of Final Doom...maybe it's time to break it out again...and maybe break my controller. ;)
