Nintendo Wii Feature: Live Wii or Die Hardcore

We live in a culture of fear right now.

No, I'm not talking about the American people in general believing that around every corner someone's going to burst out screaming, "Allah Akbar!" I'm talking about gamers. More specifically, I'm talking about hardcore gamers. Long has it been said that Nintendo is a company for kiddies, with their family-friendly consoles providing a video game library that suffers from a deplorable lack of mature content.

I been trying to tell these fools to be patient but nooooo. What would be even cooler is if there was no distinction between "hardcore" and casual. I mean what the fuq does that say for all the people in between? What if I played casual games all day everyday and nothing else? Would I then be a hardcore casual gamer? Or what if I FPSed only once a week? Would I then be called a casual hardcore gamer? Labels are for cans, not mans.

My opinion? I think the cooler games get and the more options available, the more people complain. Anyone remember the days when you went to the toy store with mommy or daddy and picked a game that looked cool and took it home and played it? And had fun? It may have not been the best game out there, but you enjoyed it for what it was, a game.

Why doesn't that happen anymore? Now you have these super whiney guys who act as if they're spending their yearly income on one game, and it better be good and worth every penny and have all the 'next gen' elements, or else they feel ripped off. It's r3tard3d!

Very well done, "wii on your face". I'm still laughing...and the funniest part is that it's like these words are coming out of Bush's mouth, especially the line, "Labels are for cans, not mans." That is such a Bush sounding line.

Your insight is excellent and your humor is mature and non-volatile. Bubble for you.

The Wii is doing what both Sony and Micro were trying to do, only doing it better. Expand the market.

Eventually these "casual" Wii gamers will outnumber the hardcore crowd through install base size.

The Wii is good for gaming. All these new adopters buying Wii may look to PS3 and 360 in the future.

Without the Wii enticing them into the console market, it may not have ever happened.

Holy $hit, we all agree! Any takers on how long it takes till some a$$hole comes in with a "wii has no hardcore games, bla bla, not "next gen", bla bla, collecting dust, bla bla, kiddy, bla bla, 'nuff said."

If people truly consider games an art form, then there are some rigid expectations on this art form. i just want to see games of all kinds, and it looks like it's happening!
