Analysts Release Mixed April NPD Predictions

Videogame industry analysts have weighed in with their sales forecasts for the month of April, ahead of the release of official US market data from the NPD Group later today.

Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter expects $520 million in monthly software sales, up two per cent year-on-year. But Doug Creutz with Cowen and Company is less optimistic, forecasting a ten per cent decrease “due to the negative impact of the Easter comp and a relatively soft release slate”.

Why they don't NPD take Amazone not at this list? It's the biggest online retailer from the USA if i not mistake. Allot of Americans order in Amazone.

Very strange that Amazone is not at there list from NPD.

Xbox 360 has all the momentum for 2010, especially the second-half of 2010 as we get closer to the launch of Crackdown 2 and Halo: Reach.

Wii has been criticized a lot recently for not being HD, especially since sales of HDTV sets have significantly increased. This is probably the reason why Xbox 360 outsold the Wii during one of the months in 2010.

PS3 is really in a disappointing situation for 2010.

It was the first-half of 2010 when the most hyped games for the PS3 were being released. March was the month when Sony saw their biggest games, and the PS3 failed to outsell Xbox 360 in March. This is a strong indicator that the PS3 will not outsell Xbox 360 any month during 2010."

Come on, be seriuos.
YES Halo is HUGE. Crackdown 2 is not huge, however.

Xbox 360 outsold the Wii 1 month? Even so, it will never outsell the his point was?

Err Yes there were GOW3 and Heavy Rain. But there are so many more coming. GT5 definately this year, LAst Guardian perhaps, and then there's KZ3 og R3.
And from what I can see from the numbers the PS3 sales grows year on year, so to call it dissapointing is kind of the wrong term.

It will however be interesting to see how E3 can impact sales: Will the PS3 Move + 3D support + great games be most hyped, or can Natal steal the show on it's own?
