In what has to be the first text adventure for a console system, Text Zedventure sets the stage for nostalgic adventure hearkening back to the glory days of Zork and others.
I've had 100 ms points just sitting around...perfect price and a nice nostalgic time killer...
"Text Zedventure is set up to be a charitable game. Affordably priced at just 80 Microsoft Points ($1.00), all profits between now and May 31, 2010 will be donated straight to the animal conservation charity “Save the Rhino” (registered charity 1035072). After May 31, 25% of sales will still go to the charity." It is for charity so you can feel good knowing your purchase will go to a good cause.
Yeah that's a good point.I know people will joke around about it "xbox text adventure, omg the future" and all that. But everyone should buy it at that price and experience a bit of gamings history, and help save the Rhino.
And what do you get? You get Wall-O-text game.
I loved text-based games as a kid. My favorite was The Labyrinth on the Commodore 64 based on the movie of the same name by LucasArts, Jim Henson, starring David Bowie. You had control to do some hilarious things, such as eating things you find in your pocket. Eat + Movie Ticket = "You force yourself to eat your movie ticket. It tastes surprisingly good." Choose-your-own-adventure books were the same deal. The choices were crucial, with everything have a big impact on the story. I would always re-read to see what other options I could have taken. For the 360, it's nice to see a game that values the power of the imagination. I don't always need stellar graphics to tell me what I should be seeing. That, and you can't complain about the price. Even avatar clothing items don't come this cheap. Icrontic will likely be reviewing this game soon, so stay tuned.
This reminds me of the AVGN video, where James plays a text-based Vampire game on the Vic-20.
I'm really into the text based adventure video games.. I guess there could be a market for games like this for kids..
This is somewhat interesting, I guess... I played a text-only game called Legends of Excalibur or something when I was in middle school. It was pretty entertaining because it was online and everyone would just play together at the computers.
There are text adventures in different difficulty levels in the XI space of playstation Home. Its been there for a while so Im glad the 360 is finally getting people to live the days of yester year. Now you'll know why old timers like me really appreciate the technology of our games today.
there is also a rouge based game on indie games to
Not only that but theres a lot of old school stuff on playstation home and free mini games. theres like 100's of free games to play and i beat the text adventure game and it was pretty fun on ps home. also the look of the ps home text adventure game murders what they showing of this x360 one that cost money..
i used to love these kind of games as a kid, besides, I got like less than 200MS points, it'd be good for that I guess! PS I hope the resolution is 1080p....lol!!!!
Who is the Developer? I Didn't read the Article. Text games are cool, I Made some my self on the PC With Quest Maker. Some of these comments are Funny, Some people just get Offended to easy. Is there any Achievements in this game?
this is an indie game so no Achievements
cool, still seems pretty cool.
The Text based adventure in PlayStation Home was pretty good, nice for a change now and again.
Microsofts text game cost real money??? Dam! Just when i had a ounce of respect for them i get brought back to reality.
Well, it's mainly a charitable thing. For the rest of May all the proceeds will go to the Save the Rhino fund. So it's more of a $1 donation than a source of greed by the developer.
i've had 100 points sitting on my account for months, maybe i've finally found something to spend them on.
