E3: Peter Moore talks Xbox 360

A day after Microsoft's E3 2007 press conference, Eurogamer sits down with the man who did most of the talking and asks about how he felt the conferences went, his current view on pricing, exclusivity deals, why things still aren't working out in Japan, the recent absorption of a billion-dollar cost for extending Xbox 360's warranty, and what happens beyond 2007. At least they are taking responsibility and not waiting for a class action lawsuit like other videogame companies. Not all 360's are faulty. If my 360 breaks down though, I know that Microsoft will take care of it for me.

The 360 brings gamers together more than any other console. Losers like yourself can't recognize that. You'd rather sit and play your mediocre games by yourself. Have fun waiting until 2008 for anything worth playing that hasn't already been out in its superior version on the 360 for months.

I totally agree with you there guy... the 360 continues to release quality titles for its consumers and deliver an enjoyable experience... and because of this it will continue to be successful.

and if you just happen to get a bum console they will replace it with no cost the the consumer (although probably pretty annoying).

I prefer the 360 way over the PS3, but I don't think that people who get PS3s are stupid. The PS3 is an awesome system. We all have our preferences. Some of us know that, others apparently don't.

Marinelife - no I'm not Petey. Sorry. You forgot the fourth kind of 360. The one that works the way it should. I have that kind, luckily. As time goes on, most other people will too. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later. Since Microsoft has publicly acknowledged the problem, I think it will be. They know that their reputation is on the line, and will work their asses off to fix the problem.

Well atleast they confessed that there focussing on the 2007 line up, which after thinking about it its pretty smart.

The line that realy struck me was: ''As well as the rather unusual step of just focusing purely on this year, rather than trying to do some visionary stuff about 2008 and 2009.'' They got stuff lined up for 2009?

Another: ''So we made the decision several months ago that, look, we've probably got 40 games we need to show in some way or another, but for 2007 we don't want to short-change either our first-party stuff or more importantly our third-party partners, so we said we were just going to focus on right here, right now, and, as we said last night, put our cards on the table.'' About your Killzone 2 comment I own Killzone, What make you think it's going to be a 9.0 game? when the first was 6s and 7s. Are you basing this on a video and screens? Thats like me assuming HALO 3 will be 9s when it comes out hell dude it could get 6s. Now Killzone 2 looks good dont get me wrong, my only beef is it has no COLOR to it, like playing a game in gray scale.

Either way I thought Peter Moore handle the interview well.
And more importantly he wont give up on Japan. I'm glad because I for one
really enjoy playing both Western based games and Eastern based games.
