Ten Reasons Why You Should Not Date a Girl Gamer

"There was recently an article written about why it's a good thing to date or marry a girl who plays video games, being the chauvinistic pig that I am I thought it only fair to write an article listing the top 10 reasons it would be a negative thing to date a girl gamer (this is a parody). These choices are purely for entertainment purposes and have no bearing on the actual way I (or the staff at PlanetXbox360.com) feel about women in general (our editor-in-chief is married for example). For one thing it's really unique when a girl is actually passionate about video games, so I won't take any credit away from those females; however dating/marrying one is a different story completely. I don't know I personally think ALOT of the list is BS.

The having to share thing being the biggest. If they are a girl gamer then they will have their OWN console and their OWN games and you will share very rarely. Because they will play on their console and you will play on yours.

This also gets rid of the split screen thing as you would just play online with the two different consoles.

There are also things wrong with the other things on the list but I don't feel like getting into it really.

I always have to laugh at the totally random pictures they put on this kind of articles too. A girl screaming with her face 3 inches from a screen, while playing a racing game with a JOYSTICK? Please...

#1 - I don't want to share my gaming consoles/PC or my games.

Being married to a non-gamer is great since I know it's always mine and she'll happily do something else while I'm gaming.

As an adult, dating oftentimes leads to marriage. Even prior to marriage many people move in together. There's absolutely no reason to waste money on multiple consoles/games/peripherals. So, yeah, sharing is a big thing, but only to those of us who have/are looking for long-term relationships.

In a relationship, I want a girl with diverse interests along rare common ones. That's what keeps a relationship fresh. If the couples shares too many interests, it's only a matter of time until they grow tired and poof! Divorce/breakup.

...but if the sex life is good, then my opinion is void.

I will agree that the fact that I like stereotypical girl stuff in addition to the gaming has meant that I never have money. Ever. But I don't think there's a moment where my husband has regretted marrying a girl gamer! :)

Women basically aren't as competitive as men due to the lesser amount of adrenaline being produced in the body. Gaming is very competitive and intense resulting in a plurality of adrenaline rushes for men.

I think a lot of this list is just examples of a bad relationship, lol. I am really into games, and my boyfriend realy likes games. We only have one tv right now, and his 360 is broken, but we manage to civilly share my 360. Then again I also have a DS, so if he is playing the 360 I just play my DS. But I will admit, I don't think I would enjoy our relationship as much if games meant as much to him as they do to me. That would prolly be rough...

meh this is silly, it does not mean not all girl gamers are off the list, we are funny and intelligent, and we do have our own consoles, so to be honest the only thing you need to worry about is how much love time we give our consoles over you lol.

never dated a gamer girl...hard to find one...but i can see some of the problems, like I love soccer, espcially La Liga (the Spanish League)...my girl loves soccer, but loves the EPL...so sometimes we get into little fights about what games to watch lol

only plays video games a few times. There isn't really much of a problem, but If I EVER beat her at a racing game or a fighting game (her 2 favorite genre's) she gets agitated at me and quits playing.

ummm ok odd, my gf has ps3,360 and ps3 and shes fine, i mean who doesnt get annoyed when they lose in a game lol. we play blazblue together, lbp, soul cal, dead or alive, resident evil 5 and on and on. she beat both ninja gaidens and dmc games.

people forget, just cuz a girls a gamer doesnt mean shes not a peron. anyone can have gamer rage or get upset. also she gives me my own time to play my single player games so im cool.

As a guy like me who doesn't have a girlfriend yet. I say always let girls play first and let them enjoy the game she likes to play. Or get a game both can share together.

hey i resent that! lol, funny stuff but not all tru! I have my own console, none of this split screen business, but i had to share 1 console with 2 older brothers growing up so split screen is just second nature for me now. And if u don't like sharing, be the bestest boyfriend ever and get her her very own console! :)
