Warner Brothers Home Entertainment Group acquires Turbine, Inc.

In a press release that has surprised many, Turbine announced that it has been acquired by Warner Brothers Home Entertainment Group.

Warner Brothers (WB) has owned the rights to all Lord of the Rings games, with the exception of Lord of the Rings Online. The acquisition secures the MMO for the WB "shield."

Apparently for $160 million. That puts all LOTRO licenses under one roof, maybe Turbine can use content from the films now in their mmorpg?

I also read Time Warner (parent company) may have interest in mirco-transactions so potential for a cash shop in game. Sad :(

Am I the only one that thinks this is a terrible idea. Turbine for all it's problems has still managed to put out some fairly good products. Why would they do this unless they need a infusion of cash to sue Atari.
