I agree with you. Here's the thing. I was going to go to college to earn a degree in journalism and break into the industry but I thought every thing out. You're not going to get paid a lot of money and a lot of people these days do that work for free on small websites. Instead, I'm going to college for #7. By that, I mean I don't mind being an engineer at Bungie (my goal, their always hiring). I'm not saying I'm trying to be Miyamoto. I think if you go for a computer science degree (what I'm doing), you can you land in the industry as a dev. If that fails, you can try other things because a computer science degree opens alot of doors for you, not just gaming. My two cents. Good luck to all my fellow gamers out.

How the hell do you forget to mention, become a video game tester. That's where a lot of people start. And when I say tester I don't mean paying to play games, I mean getting paid to play/debug games. So learn a little programming and your set.

Those jobs are hard to come by from what I've heard, and a lot of them are scams. Good if you can get a job doing it though.
