This has been my most anticipated game so far this year, but I can wait till Monday at midnight to snag a copy for 40 bucks. It's pretty lame these guys get a head start of over 1 week to practice up and learn the ins and outs of the new characters to have an advantage online. It's also lame they aren't supporting Capcom on this game which is entirely 100% fan service and at 40 dollars they aren't trying to milk you, but give you much more of the series you love.

SSF4 deserves all the sales it can get. I wish even though this dbags DLed it early they'd still go out and grab a copy for 40 bucks to at least give the money that Capcom earned from them. At this point that money will be going towards Marvel Vs Capcom 3. :)

difference is , sf4 was the second most 360 games pirated , accorded to various torrent data , yet sold a lot of copies on 360 , roughly half of the 2.5 initial million units .

Meanwhile SF4 was as much pirated , didnt bring that much income , and as unrelated as it was , was full with framerate cheaters and glitchers .

Well PC is not exactly full of fighting fans.
Like JRPGs on PC, fighting games aren't that popular.

it's not their favorite genre obviously , but it still was massively pirated ... and there is a huge mame , ppgo community for fighting games between snk and capcom roms and emu .

Besides , history shows that despite piracy on even popular pc genres , such as fps , the 360 still sell a lot of units .
While too many pc gamers fell on default pirating mode .

There no telling how much more widespread it would have been without mmos and steam constantly revitalizing sales .

Crytec saw a huge increase in pirate downloads of Crysis after 1UP talked about it on their radio-show.

DS and psp titles are easily the most pirated games since early in the consoles' release . The DS was a logical and natural step after every gba game available , and given the size of ds and gba titles .

They even got compilations running from A to Z with tons of games .

360 piracy was always risky and more demanding . You just custom firmware a psp and you're set with only a few new upgrades when necessary and very little onine involved .
DS titles and gba titles ? You copy whatever you want on a flash card and you are set ... with very few protected games resisting at most a few days .

Actually you can play pirated games until november/december without getting banned, im on the LT firmware and i´ve played for 4 months now online on xbox live without getting banned, so the value i get for all the free games compared to a cheap xbox is worth it.

Vinnie , Why should he be happy someone access that freely a game he bought ? And if he's actually a fighting game fans , he should know how much the genre struggled beyond the 80s and support the games .

I could see and "understand" fighting greedy creeps like activision and their COD , but piracy mostly hurt fighting games , especially the smaller ones like Blazblue .

Anyway oldermand is accurate , playing onmine with hacked 360 never really died , most of the careful people didnt get caught , and might never be .

Bottomline is , he's not happy about freeloaders , and would happily see them banned , wich is very much his right .

Most likely a pirate has more free time on his hands to practice the game, cause he doesn't have a job (obviously, if he had one he would buy the game).

This isn't exactly news. Why announce every time when a 360 game is pirated? Yes people who pirate run the risk of getting banned, however those who usually get banned are either careless or have no idea what they're doing. If you have a modded 360, your best bet it to get another 360 and buy the games you go online with. Or perhaps just stop pirating.

I truly wish people would grow-up and realize all this 'piracy is killing gaming' is just hype perpetrated by the gaming industry to draw attention away from the fact that most of their games suck and cost too much. If the industry was loosing as much money as they profess to then they would simply STOP developing for that platform. Trust me, the same crap was being distributed in the 70's about this and the gaming industry survived just fine.

Super Street Fighter IV is only £22 on Amazon, its hard to justify the whole 'industry ripping us off' argument when its that price. I've also been gaming since the late 70's and seen platform's killed off by piracy.
