Daily Joypad: Splinter Cell Conviction Review

When Ubisoft released the first Splinter Cell game on the Xbox it set a new standard in action-stealth games, and raised the bar in the visuals department. Since then Sam has had three more outings; Pandora Tomorrow, Chaos Theory, and Double Agent. However, even though each game introduced some new gameplay mechanics, gadgets, and weapons, it remained pretty much the same. Although still very entertaining, it was all getting a little stale, so a fresh new direction was needed. But then the problem with taking such a strong franchise in a new direction is in alienating the legion of fans.
