More Infinity Ward staff depart

Two more veteran Call of Duty developers have parted ways with Infinity Ward on APRIL 14, 2010.

Activision won’t be going down, and they won’t be giving a crap about this.

They still have the Guitar Hero franchise and Blizzard to keep them afloat.
And they know that most people will still buy COD regardless of who develops it.

They also have new Spiderman and Transformers games coming out, and I bet that they will sell ok as well.

I make it a point not to support Activision. Any games that I want that are developed/published by them I buy preowned. But I doubt the general game buying public are as well informed about the evils of this company as we are.

I know ti wont go down lol, but IW leaving will hurt them eventually. They cant just milk the same game over and over and get away with it.

Yes they can. My dad told me a saying about driving.. "just imagine every other driver around you is an idiot" people may drive, but it doesn't make them good drivers.

You can adopt this in the general gaming market. People may play games, but it doesn't make them gamers. There are a lot of people who play games who aren't gamers as to speak and don't follow gaming news, they just wanna play CoD. They don't know what developing/publishing even means, if it says CoD on the box, they'll buy it.

Infinity Ward has less than a hundred people to begin with, so you can imagine how the old trained class can affect Activision. My guess is that at least 50 maximum will leave...TAKING ALL BETS~~!!

IW employees - Should we quit
West & Zampella - Just hang tight while we work this thing out with EA. We'll get ownership of the IP and start up a new company. You guys keep drawing a paycheck from Activision. Don't accomplish much, but don't get yourselves fired in the mean time. Once we get the new company up, we'll have "interviews" for positions. That means "anyone" can apply for the open jobs. You guys just all happen to want to interview with us <wink wink>.

The only problem with all these people leaving IW is that Activision is still the holder of the COD IP. So where they go will not have any say in a COD game and they will be watched if they all go to West/Zampela new EA studio as if there is anything to come close to a COD style FPS Activison will sue for likeness infringement and theft of IP.

Everyone is like yeah, screw you Activision, but really... IW were the developers and they developed the game and developed something you didn't like. Actvision gave them the funding.

IW told them to give them more time but Hacktision needed the game out on time no delays. Just so they could pump out a new one this year!

Well, Activision's alledged treatment of staff at IW and withholding due royalties is certainly a large factor in the quality of support of MW2.

The game is fun...at first, before the hacks, glitches and exploits were the norm.

You have to ask yourself - If you work or are thinking of working for Activsion....with the way they treated Devs through the last 5 years, its not heart warming!

Sadly, Activsion can drag this on forever...royalties may never get payed! And that will have a profound effect on future hiring of high level employees.

Shareholders must be pissed at Kotick...as much as Kotick wants them to believe great franchises grow on trees, this is going to hurt huge!

To be honest I blame the human resource officers,managers, industrial phycologist of Activision and Bobby Kotick.I don't understand why some gamers actually want to see Activision fall because on whole it would be bad for the game industry.Would someone please provide me with a link to the conflict between Id software and activision.I believe that this is a lesson to not only activision but to all publisher in the industry to take care of there developers,1stparty,2ndparty and 3rd party.What the Infinity ward founders should have done is buy themself out of being owned like bungie did to M$ to become independent,but who knows?,maybe that's why the founders wanted the there plus 36$million bonus;to do just that.All I know is that up there from the middle to top line managers in activision,someone has got to had being fired.Stocks are likely to drop for Acti but I'm all honesty my fellow gamers I wish I was a fly in the IW, Activision and Respawn offices to know the happenings.If you were offered a large some of money to not leave IW and benifit from all this choas ie promotions ect would you not stay?You are there to make money after all.Credientials follow after you have have food on the table.Look it up.Maslow hierarcy of needs.After the trial with the founders of IW and Activision the details to this whole story will spill out I promise that.Trayarch must be glad that they will no longer be looking like the 2nd banana to IW.
