This Day in History: Sega Announces Sega Channel

On this day in 1993, Sega of America announced The Sega Channel, a games-on-demand network for its Genesis console that history would prove was ahead of its time.

In a press release issued jointly by Sega and partners Time Warner and Telecommunications Inc., The Sega Channel was described as "offering Sega Genesis owners access to a large library of video games via cable television."

The story is too old to be commented.
