Zynga, the biggest developer of Facebook games, released a brand new title earlier this month: Treasure Isle. The game hinges on a treasure collecting and trading mechanic, features light farming elements, and has a tropical theme. Essentially, it is a perfect storm of hit social game elements.
Last month Zynga revealed that 13 of its lesser-performing Facebook games would be closed in order to make the social side of the company less of a massive disappointment. Yesterday players of FishVille and Treasure Isle were informed that those games would be closing up shop on December 5.
What, there was a FishVille?
Fear not children your beloved pets from FishVille are fully transferable to your ChefVille game!

Late last year the developers at zSlide proved that X truly did mark the spot with the release of their popular treasure hunting game Treasure Madness. Now Zynga is looking to repeat that success and dig up some booty of their own. But if imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, than the zSlide team has reason to blush. Treasure Isle plays far too much like the competition to be coincidence and it doesn't quite nail the formula as well as zSlide's endeavours did.
