Hideo Kojima reveals the inspiration behind the story theme in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
He is one of the best story writers in the business. Hollywood would create wonders with his talent.
We should be thanking him for making SCC the game it is today. Can u imagine if they released it 2 years ago. I can almost bet it wouldve been just as crap as double agent, but seeing how amazing MGS4 was forced ubisoft to delay the game & bring something better to the table then the last SC game. Just wished they couldve made the campaign a bit longer.
Ubi did admit that MGS4 pretty much sent SCC back to the drawing board...but probably because at that point many gameplay mechanics were edging on too similar to MGS4... it is true that MGS4 made SCC a better game...but I think less credit should go to Kojima for that...and more to Ubisoft for recognizing SCC's direction and focusing on fixing it...
mastermind known as Kojima.
At the time ps3 never had any good games and that was the reason he made mgs4 exclusive to the playstation as its feels money playing it on a japanese system. @ below stealth troll no i just lied just thought i'd act like the ps3 fanboys for once always up in the 360 articals
I didn't read that in the article anywhere. We're not trying to stealth troll now are we?
Agreed. He is way off the mark. It wasn't very stealthy trolling either. Kojima made numerous well publicized remarks why he made MGS4 for the PS3. Among them were the idea that Sony had been extremely good to Kojima. But most prominent was the well known 7 course meal comparison. He also stated he wanted the theater experience for MGS4 and said that could only be possible on the PS3.
He made it on the PS3 because he could make a game wothy of his vision, not a 576p, 5-hour, dunbed-down stealth rubbish
I don't care about all of that junk. You can complain about PS3 fanboys all day but the fact of the matter is you are trolling. Don't try to act all high and mighty like you're above it. That's worst than a PS3 or XBOX fanboy in my book. A whiner playing the victim.
dangert12, we all know the real reason. God forbid a new system with a new way to code for games has a lack of games at the beginning of its life cycle. I reported your comment as spam because it was not true or funny. Try harder.
and the over guy high and mighty you talk to much i was just having a lil fun simply as i don't think i'm better then any1 and erm i'm getting a ps3 when gt5 comes out so what? my grammer is poor go on you know you want to say it lol penny wise i don't care what you reported as will it kill me it is what i said i was being farse if it gets deleted so what i purposley did that like i care that your a lil snitch on n4g lol
regardless of why he picked only the PS3...the best part is that Kojima actively made fun of the 360 several times throughout MGS4's campaign...creating some of the funniest dialogue i've come across in gaming... and that was all being done when it was still 'cool' to hate the PS3...
MGS4= Best Game Of All Time End of...
...Days? With Ahnold? "You're a f*ing choir boy compared to me. A choir boy!!!!" No, you have a great game to fit that title, even if it's a bit of a restrictive award. We could say the same about the first Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy VI, Super Mario Bros. 3, or even MGS2 and we'd all have good reasons why that was the best game ever. I have way too many "best game ever" candidates. Those guys up there, along with my icon, Demon's Souls, Dragon Age (PC), We Love Katamari (hey, the soundtrack alone could devour entire games where they stood), Persona 4, Zelda: Wind Waker, Gunvalkyrie, Panzer Dragoon Orta, etc.
MGS3 > MGS4 for me. MGS4 was awesome though.
^^ oo I'd have to go 4, 1, 3, 2...3 was great, but for me it was mostly great because I didn't care for 2...1 was awesome...and 4 was unstoppable...
The only Exclusive game in consoles with 10 of Score in this generation. GTA IV also have 10, but it is multiplatform.
That's a really cool story. I don't know if this was just a strange coincidence, but I remember looking up stuff on the history of Sealand not long after I beat that game. Yeah, it is a coincidence, but I do always think a bit about Sealand when I play the game. Just a little. Outer Heaven and Sealand are pretty much the only oceanic man-made structures I've ever heard of that completely formed an independent nation - one fiction and one reality.
Sometimes great ideas come from the simplest of things.
All MGS games are mind blowing one way or the other. Even more so in the case of MGS4. It is always interesting to see the inspiration behind the creative genius of the writers.
