From God of War and Dead Rising to The Legend of Zelda and Sonic The Hedgehog, 411's Justin Weinblatt breaks down the top 10 games that should be movies in the latest edition of The Silicon Valley 10&1!
a good game to movie won't ever happen unless producers/directors stops stamping their names all over it.
uh no actually NONE of the games on that list would make good movies seriously NONE even if yu think one of those games would make a good movie guess what it won't be a good movie because there will always be some retard producer/director trying to go beyond the game and be its own thing something dumb that will butcher the film
Almost all of these games would be terrible movies because they have godawful stories to begin with. There just isn't enough depth to Soul Blade or Final Fight to pull out a good film.
The lack of Just Cause 2 disappoints me.
Devil May Cry would be INCREDIBLE!!! Devil May Cry 3 has the best potential to have a good movie though. I'm planning on making one someday, actually.
Devil May Cry 3 would be so awesome if they perfectly make it into a movie... but we know how stupid game movies become. DMC3 > DMC1 > DMC4 without Nero.
Shadow of the Colossus done by Guillermo Del Toro, Peter Jackson, or James Cameron might stand a chance... Bioshock done by Stephen Spielberg Metal Gear Solid done by Bryan Singer and written by David Hayter would be amazing!!! I would pay HARD money to see a good The Darkness movie. Obviously, that was a comic first, but still.
No game should suffer the terrible fate of having a terrible movie made about it. Not even Lair and Haze deserve that treatment.
Why not something a little more creative? A Band of Brothers/Saving Ryan set in the Command & Conquer universe? Shadow of the Colossus would be more suited to a series, but it would be epic. Alone in the Dark - they made it similar to a film anyway, and I know there's already a film based on it... but I'd like a good one.
I've come to realize that games don't need to be made into movies no matter how popular they are these days. Games these days are capable of giving us equal or better cinematic experiences than what movies have given us.
I don;t understand why people want movies from videogames. Videgames offer more complexity and offers a role for the player. Movies can only be told in sequences therefore it won;t allow the freedom a videogame does.
but name is not like DMC but movie was Japanese i'll try to find link.
I could stand to see a Megaman movie.
Video games don't need to be made into movies.
Japanese games dont work very well in the big screen cause their not american.
Because movies based on games always suck, I think wierd ideas like Sonic the movie would be a perfect fit...as in it would absolutely suck for sure, and fit right in with the rest of those bad movies.
