Gamepro I Splinter Cell: Conviction Review

Gamepro: "While it might not be the back-to-basics game fans were expecting, Conviction is an outstanding title from top to bottom. On sheer value alone the game warrants a look, with an action-packed and satisfying single-player campaign, lengthy co-op mode, and entertaining online components. Why Sam has stepped out of the shadows and is on full out attack makes complete sense in context with the story, so if you can accept it for what it is and not dwell on the fact that it isn't what you've come to expect in a Splinter Cell title, you'll no doubt agree that Conviction rivals Chaos Theory as the best title in the franchise's history."

From the reviews I've seen it seems like a very solid title. I should have it in a day or two.

I started playing this game on monday and so far i like it but i dont think it deserves a 5 or even a 10...i have to say between 3.5-4.0 or 8.5-9 no higher. i kind of find the gameplay repetative when killing people. is usually a shoot in the head or if u get close enough for hand to hand combat is usually a puch to the throat, elbow to the face, or shoot to the leg then hit to the throat.

everybody is entitled to an opinion @ Knight so I respect yours. to me the game deserves a solid 9/10.

Gamepro gives 5/5 like candies. The review summary:

PROS: A satisfying conclusion to Sam Fisher's saga; improves upon the franchise's shooting mechanics in almost every tangible way; co-op and multiplayer modes feel like "classic" Splinter Cell.

CONS: Enemy A.I. runs on pre-determined paths unless interrupted; NPC chatter can get repetitive; single-player may be too much of a departure from the series for some fans.

With all that cons you may think game is a 4/5.

so another review saying its an action game then...why has one of the best respected stealth games turned action?moneys my guess...well done.if you believe 5/5 as a score for this game then your a mug...NO game is perfect so no game should ever get the 5/5 or 100%,cant see the single player game really deserves that score to me.but hey,ms fanboys seem to like average action games that they over hype/over scored...hope you all enjoy the 5-6 hour killfest that is no longer splinter cell...sad really.

I agreed with you 100% that no single players game deserved a 5/5 or 100% like Heavy Rain and GOW3. But if you know and read up on these reviews you know SPlinter Cell has more than a single player campaign, like several modes of co op and online play. So you FAILED.

thats right it does... but as not everyones online, and splinter cells previous mp aspects were utter sh*te.and coop special ops?sound like they boltted that on after they see what the other company's were doing.so i dont really see what point your making?taken nearly 5 years to make, its a laughable attempt really, except for taking stuff out and HAVING to kill people, this is just another action game, and a short one at that...so i fail because i like stealth games?and not in your face action games?ok then.enjoy it.but this shouldn't even be called a stealth game...oh and little has an 'L' in it.
