The games industry today is all about big announcements. Gone are the days when a few months of previews and some cool screenshots were enough. Now, if you haven't got 14 years of teasing, an ARG, a live-action short film tie-in and a six-hour press conference with fun fair and dancing girls, your product might as well not exist.
One problem. With big companies and big announcements come big logistics and big mistakes. With the recent bungling of Gears of War 3's announcement just the most recent example, GamesRadar decided to take a look back at some of the biggest hype whiffs the industry has yet expelled.
