Splinter Cell Conviction has a lot of baggage. A hero who by videogame standards is geriatric, signature gear people have all used before, and a stealth heritage that's at odds with the wider market.
To make it fresh, Ubisoft Montreal looked to all sorts of sources, from Max Payne to Riddick, Jason Bourne and Hitman - while still keeping an eye on the Tom Clancy brand that Splinter Cell is built on.
OXM asked Game Director Patrick Redding about if Sam will ever die, if he'll ever go back to "Ethnicbacklashistan" and if stealth games are dead. Oh, and if Tom Clancy is a right-wing nutter or not.
