A screw-up in EA's Warhammer Online billing system has resulted in many players being charged upwards of 22 times for a one-month subscription, filling bank accounts with overdraft fees and the Warhammer forums with very angry players.
My bank charges me 30 dollars for every overdraft transaction. So if I charge 1 dollar to my account on 5 different occasions while the account is in the negative, I get charge 5x the 30 dollar overdraft fee, which is 150 dollars. So those 5 dollars actually cost me 155 dollars.
Imagine having just enough in your account for your month of Warhammer Online and getting charged 22 times. The first time will not overdraw your account, but then there's going to be 21 overdraft charges for all the others, so 21x30 = 630 dollars in overdraft fees! That doesn't even consider the extra charges for the 21 extra months. I'm sure EA will refund the 21 extra months of charges they levied on your account, but will they also refund the 630 dollars in overdraft charges? Somehow I doubt it.
Holy crap, that's horrible.
