There will be no Microsoft domination, in fact i doubt there will be any domination, it will probably end up: Nin:40% Sony:35% MS:25%

3DS and PSP2 are pretty much guaranteed and a single 5 year old console isn't going to steal the show from 2 new pieces of hardware on top of whatever Nintendo and Sony show for the Wii and PS3.

Hmm, Nintendo will probably make a comeback after about 3 years of crap with the unveiling of 3DS and a Zelda demo. Those two are the only things I'm interested in.

If Sony will unveil PSP2, new exclusive titles, FFvs13 demo then that would be cool. I hope they won't spend most of their time on Move.

MS will obviously spend most of their time on Natal. I'm hoping for new innovative tech demos. Obviously, there will be a demo of Halo Reach and Fable III. They need to announce new games. I wonder if they'll show off MGS Rising though... since Hideo Kojima decided to announce the game at MS's conference last year.

I think Sony has the better chance of stealing an exclusive. Regardless, Natal will make or break their press conference, but it's E3 so who knows. I'd rather see both MS and Sony showcase new games, exclusives rather than Natal and Move.

Yeah I agree with Oldsnake there really isn't anything else to "steal" as they say as far as exclusives go. MS has pretty much taken every single Playstation exclusive that mattered on the PS3. There are a few left that not many people care about.

As for Nintendo same with them most of their best games are first party games which won't go multiplatform obviously. So there really isn't anything shocking left to take from either Nintendo or Sony.

All they need to do to have a good conference is show some unannounced games, show off some Natal games and some xbox live updates and their good to go.

The thing is I can see those 10 things happening at E3 for Microsoft, but it's not enough. Stealing a Nintendo exclusive is dumb because the developer would have no experience in a current-generation platform and they probably don't have the assets to make a big game. Microsoft's domination ended in 2007. We won't see Microsoft ahead of Sony this generation anymore.

Sony doesn't own FFVII that changed once the Enix merge happened. And even if they did all SE has to do is change the name of the game to FF7: Ultima or something and they will be fine.

Steal exclusives, expand the game room, Halo, Valve, Episodic Gaming, Valve, Memory, Bundle, MMO, and Natal.

Let's look at this list:

Exclusives: What else is there really for MS to steal? There aren't any exclusives that would be worth bringing to the 360 of the exclusives that could be bought. Although I do like how they admit that it takes MS moneyhats to accomplish those steals.

MMO: I really don't think this one will work out too well as the traditional console gamer and the MMO gamer want different things from their games. But it could work.

Episodic gaming: MS has no control over this unless it is first party so what's the point of mentioning this.

Game room: The game room is eh to me so I don't really know if there's anything MS can do to make it interesting for me.

Portal 2: It will probably be shown at E3, which is cool. But it is hardly the substance of E3 DOMINATION!!!!

Bundle: Why would MS give up the money they get from HDD sales for arcades? And MS usually bundles 2 games in with the 360 at the holidays. I know I picked up mine with Lego Batman and Pure.

Cost: Again, why would MS give up the money they are making off of the HDDs? If they weren't making enough money off of them, I guarantee they would drop the price PDQ.

Half Life 3: I think we'll have a new president before that one comes out.

Halo: There will already be enough people testing Reach that any extra people would be superfluous, but it is possible.

Natal: Natal is the big question mark. Ms obviously believes in it enough to dedicate an entire event to it, but I don't think they will be showing off anything amazing for Natal, yet. I personally haven't seen anything coming out so far that is that spectacular.

My predictions for MS @ E3:

They will show Gears 3, Portal 2, Fable 3, and CoD(Mo' Better Blues)56 or whatever the hell they decide to call it.

They'll suck their own d!ck over how great they are. (All of the big three do this.)

There will be some unannounced games announced.

Same as every other year.

the majority of the first conference or all of it for that matter is probably going to deal with games and more features being incorporated with Live....since they are going to give a whole other day to Natal, the first conference should appeal to the 360's hardcore and gaming base....please them and it will be a success....

what i want to see is how MS will implement the 360 controller with Natal since they have said that the controller will be incorporated with certain games i believe....i would want it to be polished with next gen graphics that way we can see what it is capable of and actually be something that any 360 gamer would pick up one day if they saw it as a positive addition to their entertainment

-New LIVE features, maybe the ability to record games/activity, add a damn "predictive text" like Sony has when I send messages so I don't have to type every dam word on the hit-and-miss dpad. Little things like that.

The following will make me facepalm:

-Demonstrating casual games that require stupid poses like the "Elephant" pose, or the one where you jump around like an idiot to block balls. Unfortunately, Natal as a whole seems to promote that kind of activity. Which is why I can't see myself using it for "hardcore" games. I don't have a problem with it-- but demonstrating it is always embarrassing. Leave that to Nintendo.

MS will deliver, they have a lot of potential for 2010. As long as they don't whore it out with celebrities and smoke-and-mirror us they should be fine. E3 always delivers anyway.

Hardcore Natal games... I see an add on for the 360 controller too. So Natal cameras know exactly where it is...

A new slim 360... Really go to town for something different...

All new Skus... All will come with Natal even the Basic no hard drive 1. The 2 other skus will have 500GB drives and the most expensive one will have Blu ray just for playing movies.

Microsoft have said they will spend as much as launching a brand new console. This could be a real great E3..

That they would integrate a motion sensor into existing 360 controllers. Besides, having a motion sensor in order to get more accurate would just be slapping themselves in the face because they've been talking about how amazingly accurate it is for ages.

Natal will definitely come bundled with 360's, and I can see a price drop happening, but Sony will probably just drop their price as well in response. I'm assuming their going to have an aggressive marketing campaign and will try to push out a few million during the winter months.

I'd like to see some "Hardcore" natal games, but I've pretty much lost faith in the system after seeing nothing but breakout for a year. I'm not counting the burnout paradise demo because of how badly it tracked the person.

And I highly doubt that microsoft would include a blu-ray player into their system. The best thing they have going for them is Price, and adding a new feature such as blu-ray would only cause the price to spike. And it would also be kinda pointless seeing as the 360 doesn't output true 1080P, so there'd be no point in having it.

Also, as far as "Stealing" exclusives go, what would they steal? All the best PS3 games are First-party, so there's no way they can get those. They should be making their own IP's.

Not to mention MS spends way more money on there confrences then Sony or Nintendo. THey bring in celebirties to distract people from the fact that there games still are stuck in 2007. Oh and if you actually watched E3 coverage last year then you would know that everyone that covered it said PS3 had the best E3 in 2009.
MS Had a year lead on shelves and basically has no lead on the PS3 they have been steadily losing ground since the PS3 launched, and now that they are the same price 360 hasn't stood up.

Natal probably can't handle Wii ports, they actually require precision which Natal has shown none of.

That's funny because I've been playing MLB 10 the Show with custom soundtracks. I also remember custom soundtracks in BFBC2 Killzone 2 Street Fighter 4,Marvel Vs Capcom 2 & The Godfather 2 and that's just games I have played. The PS3 can do it it is just up to devs to use it.

as for ms, i am not convinced with Natal, so its make or break. if they cannot convince the consumers with this tech at e3, i predict that sony will make significant headway, and beat ms for the number 2 position this gen.

(By the way i think that even though ms has sold more consoles, they are statistically tied with sony this gen, if we factor the one year 360 head start. But considering the market share of ms last gen, it is undeniable that they have improved their position against sony dramatically. So i think ms does not care if sony sells more consoles when its all said and done, they are probably celebrating their accomplishments, unconcerned with all this console war bickering between gamers)

there are no games announced for ps3 besides maybe ffxiv or ffvsxiii.even if square did bring them over,we know the games would sell the most on ps3 just like ffxiii did.

and look at games like dmc4,ace combat,tekken6,etc.they didn't do anything for 360.it might have kept 360 gamers from buying ps3s.but it didn't stop ps3s from being bought.and the games above became worse being multiplatform.no one talks about tekken,ace combat,etc like they used to.they now have become weaker and not so special now.

just think of bioshock on 360.same thing.as soon as it became a ps3 franchise too,no one cared about the game as they once did when it was an exclusive to 360.

we all know that gears,halo,crackdown,etc will be on 360.those games are special to 360 fans just like killzone2,uncharted2,GT5,etc are to ps3 fans.the developers need to pick a system and make it the best game it can be.

but my guess is that all the extra game room,memory stuff,is just fluff for this article.they will not help microsoft in the slightest.it comes down to GAME CONTENT and only GAME CONTENT.micrsoft needs to bring GAMES to E3.games you can't play anywhere else.

and natal needs quick,hot games like a natal virtua fighter from sega,boxing,soccer,voice command in games like in the next cod,etc.and make prime sense's video a reality of sitting on a couch and sifting through media with a swipe of the hand.

I respectfully disagree with your analysis. Having all those franchises that used to be exclusive for sony, has done a great deal for ms. It is probably the main reason it is such a tuff competitor this gen.

take a look at the difference between sony and ms in terms of market share in these past two gens. Ms has managed to significantly cut into sony's market share.

if ms did not have the games u mentioned, i would have probably already bought a playstation 3.

sony is STILL SELLING ps2.microsoft has not cut into that market.they ran from it.abandoned it.

microsoft has not cut into psp's market share as microsoft has no real portable out there.but sony has sold over 60 million psps in a nintendo monopoly.

microsoft may have sold systems better this gen.but it hasn't cut into sony's selling of ps3.

sony has always sold 10 million or more consoles a year for 10 years of production(ps1/ps2/psp).and sony HAS sold on average 10 million or more a year for 3 years for ps3.

ps3 has been out for just over 3 years.ps3 is sitting over 30 million sold.microsoft has made sales for themselves.but has not stopped sony from hitting their targets.even in a recession,even at a higher price,sony has still averaged 10 million plus a year.

microsoft has done nothing to sony.but has bettered their position for themselves.even if natal helps 360 sell better,but sony still sells 10 million or more a year for the next 7 years,360 will have no impact on sony's bottom line.and sony would have still sold another 100 million consoles for a THIRD TIME.

the RECESSION changed how fast sony sells the ps3.sony was outselling microsoft at a higher price before the recession hit.but sony still sold 10 million when it slowed.didn't change a thing.

if sony would have sold 8-9 million or even LESS,then i would say that sony was effected by them.they weren't.and right now,sony has increased their sales.even with the shortage,the results will be the same every march 31 for sony.

Steal a previous exclusive? What is there for them to steal? I mean I know Sony has a lot of AAA titles, but they're mostly IP owned. Plus if that rumor is true, its Sony that "stole" a previous exclusive.

Honestly, they can only rely on Natal to push consoles, becaus Halo won't and I say that because everybody that wants halo has a 360 right? FF13? Really? That game seem to do worst on the 360 Vs the PS3 one, to me the 360 should only have RPG games like Elder Scrolls, Final Fantasy games should stay on Playstation and Nintendo.

Halo Reach is about the only game I got on my list, I went out an got me my 5th 360 and got the Elite model. Just finish Halo 3 ODST today an working on finishing Gears 2 and maybe RE5 (Because my friend had to buy it for a system he doesn't have).
