"SEGA of America is sad to announce the closure of SEGA Studios San Francisco. It is an immensely talented studio and we wish all the best to all of the staff in all their future endeavors."
That six-pack is disturbingly manly.
Feels bad, man
"03 April, 2010 09:01" Damn, that sucks.
Yeah never good to hear companies shut down. But if it was a April Fools, would it have the impact like: Naughty Dog, Rockstar, EA Sports, Bungie etc Shutting down. On a side note; I just assumed Iron Man was Activision like most other Marvel licensed games.
teh first ironman was that good even if they had good ideas but this doesn't mean well for the sequel ...
Just terrible news. Hope everyone affected lands on their feet.
Hahaha, I feel evil but this is funny because this is the studio of that Constantine douche who said SEGA was losing money and putting too much effort into their Wii games and his studio, which only made games for the HD consoles, has been shut down whilst The Conduit 2 has been announced. Irony!
... now let's hope they will follow that up with other smart decisions, like re-releasing Shenmue 1 and 2 for XBL and PSN (uncut, and with the original language!), Power Stone, Crazy Taxi HD, Nights, etc etc etc... ...and also translate good new games during the development, instead of afterwards, so it doesn't take as long to be released in the west (Yakuza 3) and so they don't have to cut it! (Yakuza 3).
F that. Give me Skies of Arcadia 2 or just crawl in a hole and die Sega.
I worked with these guys way back when they were called Secret Level. We all worked on Magic the Gathering for the first Xbox. This was a long time ago and who knows if the original guys are still around but if they were I wish them all the best.
