Thoughts on David Jaffe's Next Game

PSLS writes:

David Jaffe is certainly a big headline-maker for PlayStation gamers. His subtle hints about his next game are always taken very seriously by gamers, as any hint could potentially indicate whether he's working on a new intellectual property or an existing one. Many believe that Jaffe's next game will be a new Twisted Metal on PS3, while some think that he's working on something entirely new. Check out PlayStation LifeStyle's thoughts on Jaffe's next game.

My thoughts, are announce the damn game, and quit wasting time being on another stupid reality show.

Tachyon_Nova5558d ago

I have full confidence in him, but his next game had better be a masterpiece or there are gonna be a lot of unhappy people around who have been looking forward to his game.

After Calling All Cars, I DON'T have full confidence in him...But if he goes with the sure thing in Twisted Metal at least it'll sell well.

For all of this waiting, it better be Twisted Metal, Jaffe.

TM3 is my favorite but I'll take what they bring out gladly. Fun times back in the day and great soundtracks

Last one on ps4 wasn’t good at all.
Hoping for some good reboot or remake of the first 3

Dagexon262d ago

You mean the one on ps3?

Cacabunga261d ago

Lego 2K Drive features an exciting mode called Brick Brawl, inspired by Twisted Metal. Players can create, share, and upload various cars, including ones like Sweet Tooth. The game boasts thousands of custom cars, ranging from the Batmobile to the Sweet Tooth ice cream truck.

Never understood the like for the series. Not my bag but I know a lot of gamers are clamoring for a new game and liked the TV. Series

TM1 and 2 are time period classics. They were a bit rough, ugly, and grungy, but they felt right during the time period they were released and they scratched that early console “death match” itch before FPS games would completely swallow that market.

Many great memories with friends playing couch co-op and 1v1. Short, and quick-and-dirty gameplay that we returned to over and over. I’d buy a remake or proper remastering of the first two games day one.

InUrFoxHole262d ago

Lol, nice! I remember having the tiger handheld or watch..

FinalFantasyFanatic261d ago

I played those so much as I kid, I bought the Twisted Metal games that were on PSN as Playstation Classics, wow, they feel clunky by today's standards, they could really use the remake/remaster treatment.

Twisted Metal: Black is when the series really hit for me. I still love that game so much. It was kind of downhill for the series after that IMO. I'd love to see the series go back to its roots, but I don't hold out a lot of hope for David Jaffe coming back from where he is these days to oversee development of a competent sequel.

Black was the pinnacle in my opinion. I adored TM1 and TM2, for sure. But Black brought it to a whole new level of awesome.

All I ask for is a new Twisted Metal that allows flat screen & PSVR2 cross play that also supports a wheel.
Would be heaven.

Babadook7698d ago

Wow. I like the idea of VR twisted metal with a wheel.

Rebel_Scum698d ago

They need to get the enemy AI balance right. Thats what made 2 the best in the series. Black was abysmal in that dept.

neomahi697d ago

You don't. Do sequels. If you've gotta reboot, might as well do a new IP. God of War is the only game I can say that did a successful reboot

TiredGamer697d ago (Edited 697d ago )

Isn’t the new GoW just a sequel technically?

I personally think they can leverage the roots of the series. The original TM in 1995 took place on Christmas Eve 2005, and it was the 10th contest in history. Why not “reboot” the franchise by making a prequel of sorts showing the origin story of the series and maybe linking all the future games in a brilliant way. Seems like such an obvious idea to leverage old with the new (kind of look how Doom 2016 did with its lore).

Just make it a good game Twisted Metal has it's fan base.
