Flaws in Modern Warfare 2 Create Opportunity for Competitors

resumeplay writes: "It is a simple fact that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, no matter what happens now or in the future, is going to go down in history as one of the most successful, if not the most successful, first person shooter (FPS) games ever made."

Could have benefited from a Beta I think.

A beta would've caught a lot of these problems, its too bad they didn't have one.

If you ask me, it was Activision behind that decision. They didn't want anyone playing the game ahead of time, to reveal what its like or or anything. They didn't even let reviewers post their scores until like a day before launch, I was monitoring on Metacritic looking for the scores every day leading up to launch. So it was like a total lockdown on the game.

Also might not have wanted anyone to get sick of it before launch. Some of my friends were already tired of Halo 3 by the time the beta ended.

It's all about money. They wanted the biggest impact possible on launch day, and they got it. Thanks Activision, thanks a lot. We'll see if this gets you return fans though.

I've already moved on. Too many problems that I couldn't deal with. Trying my luck now on Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Superior game IMO.

Yeah, battlefield is so much better. I'm still holding onto MW2 though if my friends want to play but that's the only reason I would ever take it off my shelf again.

Ohh poor Modern Warfare 2, it just doesn't get any better.

I haven't played the online competitive much, partially because I hear so many bad things about it. I loved the campaign and the spec ops, though.

I'll still probably get into the online competitive, and just take the good with the bad. It's a great engine/game, so even cheating online can't detract from the quality design. Although I'm sure it gets frustrating.
