now everybody can buy this game and see how great it really is.

Aphe5562d ago

I've just started playing it again, when I bought it I had quite a lot of games to play and I didn't give it much of a chance. I don't know why I didn't because it's an excellent game, really enjoying it.

get the mods from moddb mate, becomes a different game.

champ215562d ago

Currently playing this game with the Hi res mod.

The game looks better then any rpg out there. The story is just epic, among the best RPG's out there and if anyone has missed it they should pick up a copy asap.

Simon_Brezhnev5562d ago (Edited 5562d ago )

Yeah the story is real epic way better then Dragons Age. I love how the choices you make in game are. I know i reloaded a lot of save files.

Edit.

I think im going to install The Witcher again just for the hi res textures.

champ215562d ago (Edited 5562d ago )

The hi res textures give the game competely new looks. I havent seen an rpg look this good.

Tried playing it in Eyefinity mode, though the cutscenes wont load properly (the game play looks epic in Eyefinity though as if you are within the world). However since the cutscenes wont work stuck playing it on 1 monitor. Hope there is a patch out for eyefinity on this game.

Oh well the next witcher is confirmed to support eyefinity cant wait for it.

The mod reminds me why i am exclusively a PC gamer.

This is true, the game looks great with that mod. Lol your last comment,"The mod reminds me why i am exclusively a PC gamer" reminded me of myself a couple years ago. I was strictly a pc gamer because of free mods and better graphics on pc (and cheaper games too!) However, I bought a ps3 and I feel happy with it. While pc games are miles ahead of ps3 in hi-res textures and resolutions (and arguably AA too), I found that ps3 exclusives have better lighting, animations, and polish/optimization. I think there are plenty of games out there to support my observation! But, I just started playing games in dx11 and wow, the future of pc gaming is exciting (and expensive lol)!

champ215562d ago (Edited 5562d ago )

I agree with the rest of your statement..

Expensive depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to go extreme then yes it can be. Is it required to max out all games... NO.

Till date 8800gtx plays games in 1080p, better then any console can and thats 3yr old hardware now and as you rightfully mentiond games are cheaper on PC.

My PC is an extreme setup(you can check the specs on my profile) however compared to buying games on consoles i must have saved more then 1300usd in the last 2yrs alone (enough to build an awesome rig which will an entire generation beating consoles game for game).

Hence PC gaming expensive i dont think so, the cost of games alone makes consoles more costly.

Finally yea i agree PS3 has some good exclusives, however personally when i look at the PS3 lineup the only game that really interests me would be uncharted thats it, again this is just my opinion to each is their own. Multiplats are the majority of games played, which is where PC beats every other system and PC does have the most exclusives BTW.

The Witcher was pretty good. I wasn't a fan of the interface in general, though. And the combat could've been better... but, overall a good game. I also bought the Enhanced Edition which came with a strategy guide--some parts would've been impossible with out it!! I am looking forward to The Witcher 2, as I hope they polish it up more!

As a dev, I can tell you that with 5, Epic made quite a leap. It perhaps may have done *too much* of a fidelity leap that most of its target hardware (Both PC and Consoles) struggles to hit 60FPS with all the new cutting edge features they added.

It may have had some issues with this generation to find a good home, but by PS6 the engine will have matured and found a good matching partner 🙏

Now that Sweet Baby is involved in this game. I’m really concerned it’s going to turn into a woke agenda poster child. I hope not but after what happened to the tv show, I won’t be holding my breath on this one.

Demetrius338d ago (Edited 338d ago )

Folks are so mf afraid to tell the sweet baby inc weirdos NO we don't want your involvement lol

jznrpg338d ago

Hard to say. Maybe they are welcoming them?
I know I wouldn’t hire anyone from the outside to give me advice on how to do my job but we don’t know that they feel scared and they could be positive toward them. People have different beliefs and ideals and that’s ok there is 7 billion people you are going to have ideals that run the gamut.
If it was me I’d tell them to F off because I wouldn’t want to pay people to advise what I’m doing regardless of who it is unless I sought them out myself and that could be the case here who knows.
