When the Wii hit shelves back in 2006, Ubisoft released the original Red Steel as a launch title for Nintendo's next-gen console. Red Steel was highly anticipated based on its unique concept: gun and swordplay in first person view. However, the final product didn't quite pan out - the gun controls were lackluster and the swordplay was unintuitive - and Red Steel received low review scores across the board. Assembling an entirely new team and a new Creative Director, Ubisoft was set on redeeming themselves with the help of Nintendo's new controller add-on: Wii MotionPlus. With the added precision, several Wii shooters with great controls to mold after, and a completely new design team, has Ubisoft finally created the definitive first person gun and sword game with Red Steel 2?
