GameShard: God of War 3 review

GameShard writes: "As the culmination to an epic story, God of War III ticks all the boxes, offering a game that is indeed bigger, better, and more badass than its predecessors. But the gameplay mechanics at its heart haven't moved on, and still suffer from annoyances that have dogged the series since its first outing. It's a powerful game, and an enjoyable romp through its surprisingly short campaign, but it might not be the pinnacle of perfection some were expecting."

"But the gameplay mechanics at its heart haven't moved on, and still suffer from annoyances that have dogged the series since its first outing." - disagree 100%. Gameplay mechanics have been so refined that it is pure joy to play this game. Kratos has weight to him, you "feel" his power. A lot of small things have ben added to gameplay. Hermes boots, all 4 weapons being usable and good, L1 + O to grapple on enemy hit him with shoulder, to grab opponent and storm through rest of enemies, etc. Not sure what some expected, to ditch hack n slash and give him guns? Seriously.

I agree that game is not "perfect", it needed at least 6-8 more months in development. Second part of game graphically is not as polished and we know they had to cut some boss/titan battles due to time constraints. Still incredible action game and king of hack n slash.

The 2nd half wasn't polished? What game were you playing?
