Business Week writes: "Mitsumi Electric Co. and other parts suppliers to Nintendo Co. advanced after Nintendo said it will start selling a 3-D version of its portable DS game machine that doesn't require glasses."
"Mitsumi Electric shares climbed 3.9 percent to 2,042 yen at the 11 a.m. trading break on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, headed for the highest close since Oct. 16. The company had the largest gain in the Nikkei 225 Stock Average."
"Hosiden Corp. jumped 5.2 percent to 1,236 yen, set for its highest close since Oct. 21. MegaChips Corp. rallied 7.3 percent to 1,379 yen. Nintendo, the world's biggest maker of video-game consoles, soared 8.9 percent to 30,450 yen, on course for the steepest rise since November 2008."
"It's revolutionary that we can enjoy 3-D games without glasses," said Yumi Nishimura, an equity-market analyst at Daiwa Securities SMBC Co. "The new console will spur sluggish sales of game consoles and lead to expanded business opportunities for parts suppliers."
