Resolution Magazine writes: "As soon as you take a step away from the setting, the similarities start to fall away. Apart from the constant lack of ammo, and the presence of mutants, bandits and everything in between, Metro 2033 is its own game. It's more akin to the largest blockbuster shooters than GSC's sprawling survival. Where Stalker presents a vista to explore and attempt to live in, Metro 2033 provides us - rather aptly - with tunnel vision, each moment scripted and planned for. And that's just fine."
