Does the Move have what it takes to succeed?

The real question that Sony should be asking themselves isn't "Why aren't we getting into the motion control business?" but rather "Will our Playstation core demographic care?"

tech wise yes an its amazing but its all dependent on the games without them its just a stick/cam and thats okay because we don't have to worry about that because Sony has assured us there will be plenty of games for the Move and I for one am looking forward to E3 to see more ^.^

Move's success will be based mostly off of what software they have for it. We already know the tech is there and will achieve great things, but Sony has to back it up with great games. I have no doubt that Sony will do this, though. I have a feeling that we will see a PS3 exclusive fitness game at E3, and that alone would be enough to turn some heads. They are in a good position to keep the casual and core audience happy at the same time, though.

They actually showed off some good stuff for Move. Though I will still play my hardcore games like Killzone 3 with a regular controller. It was nice to see games like socom4 and LBP running with move it just adds a little something different if you choose to use it, and choice is never bad.

to imply that everyone that likes motion controls bought a wii is wrong.i didn't buy it.there's others like me who didn't BUY the wii.besides playing hardcore games for years,i have the eyetoy for my ps2.and when the pseye came out for ps3,i bought it and its games.when MOVE comes out,i'm buying that too.NO WII REQUIRED.

the author of the article is also saying move is no different than the wiimote.but the wii is not doing augmented reality,not doing gesture control,not doing voice recognition,not doing upcoming 3D and still not doing accuracy.i don't see the similarities except for holding the controller.

as for microsoft and natal,you can do most of what natal is going to do with this:

vision cam does gesture,with the 360 headset,you could give voice commands,and with head tracking,you could track body movements.but as usual,microsoft is ABANDONING one device for another and duping it's fanbase to buy yet another device.

Don't take me wrong. I do believe Sony will suceed with move but I will for sure miss a second analog.

I know the "ball" does the tracking but how about that "medieval times" game Sony is showing lately? If you play with two balls (LOL). How do you walk/look around with controlled speed sensitivity alowed by analogues? It must be ackward since you are using tracking for sword and shield.

And... On a FPS game how would you strafe and aim at the same time?

I am sure Sony is making developers happier with PS Move + "Nunchuk" controls being so similar to the Wii. But I still would like Sony to put an analog on the main tracking device and simply dump the "PS nunchuk".

This is like PSP all over again missing the second analog.

look for all the people who dont believe what did you expect when you first bought the wii? that is the experience that you will get with the move. not perfect but not waggle either. with online gaming free its a win win
