I had high hopes for Just Cause 2, i thought it couldnt b any worse then the original game, WASNT I WRONG, i hated the demo, deleted it after 20mins of playin

PR0X15168d ago

The top image is better looking.

Hanif-8765168d ago

This game never did interest me anyways, i didn't even download the demo.

ScarT5168d ago

I think the PS3 is best looking. 360 is blurry and greyish.

WetN00dle695168d ago

ScarT
NO its not what plagues most PS3 multiplat games.
Its called Depth of field, the cam focuses on the character making everything around it look blurry and out of focus kinda like the human eye when it focuses on a specific item everything around it just plain blurs out, its a nifty little technique. I find it quite funny that the PS3 version is somewhat missing this feature.

Game looks terrible anyways.. I don't like this site for comparisons they are very anti PS3. They wil show next to no difference between 360 and ps3 FFXIII I bet you. Also you can't tell if any of there screens are legit on comparison shots as they never put the screens up where it says press L2 etc.. so they can easily put 360 on a ps3 shot etc..

ProjectVulcan5168d ago (Edited 5168d ago )

Unfotunately as im sure im running the risk of a bunch of disagrees but the 360 version has the edge here- although its not massively significant. PS3 looks like it is possibly running at a slightly lower resolution if these screenshots represent the game, just the detail on the character in most shots really is pin sharp and defined on 360, but less so on PS3.

All of the images look like they share the same assets- textures, shaders etc etc all look identical or close as to it. But Ps3 still comes off a little less sharp. Seems like classic resolution reduction to me, but we will see exactly from a further analysis.

I wouldnt think that most people would notice this significantly in the game, just remains to be seen about the framerates and tearing of each version. If i choose to get this, it will probably be on trusty old Pc as usual, avoiding all these comparisons. Demo out now on steam!

FACTUAL evidence5168d ago

This site is known for bad image comparisons.....at least capture the same area, and scene.

Spiderman5168d ago

Actually look at this. I personally couldnt give a crap which looks better as the game is average, and ill probably pick it up in a steam sale, but its clear that the 360 does have a slight lead.

tronz5168d ago (Edited 5168d ago )

After looking at the gamerzone.de pics I downloaded the two demos for my PS3 and 360. The PS3 version seems to be a lower resolution with a pink tent with the 360 version looking sharper by more than a little and has a tan tent. They both have flickering shadows but the PS3 version suffers more by alot.

edgeofblade5167d ago (Edited 5167d ago )

I find it more than a little amusing that so many of you think this site is biased because the 360 wins out on a handful of these comparisons, though most of them are an unqualified tie.

What's downright scary is you believe there is some vast conspiracy to put PS3 shots in the place of the 360 shots and vice versa.

Anyway, between the inherent inconsistencies in these screenshots (time of day shadows, depth of view, other semi-random variables), it's hard to pick any one of them over the others...

As usual. And, as usual, it comes down to what controller do I want to use... 360 or PS3?

SilentNegotiator5167d ago (Edited 5167d ago )

They look pretty darn close. I'll be getting the PS3 version, probably, because I played the demo and it runs smooth (But I don't know about the 360 because I'm a dirty peon silver user).

EDIT: The character detail DEFINITELY looks better on my TV than in the screenshots.

y0haN5167d ago

The PS3 has the same HDR/Bloom lighting as the PC. 360 looks dull by comparison.

PopEmUp5167d ago

agree man, I hate the first Just cause, was really meh imo, and I try and give the second one a chance by trying the demo, oh man I was really disappointed and deleted within 5 minutes of playing

just look at the water reflections...yup

TheXgamerLive5168d ago

One pic is angled down and getting the reflections on the bottom, the other angled more up and shows the water refections at the top, 2 different angles idiot, wow your a bright light aren't you.

Enough is enough, stop being a ps3 troll, both systems look very good.

devsgreat5168d ago (Edited 5168d ago )

ohh soo you want more?

no color contrast in the wall (right side)

look at the landscape...cant you see all blury in 360?
and yes, both version looks pretty good...nice contender for GTA

God_Of_Epicness5167d ago

"Both version looks great"

That's because you know PS3 version looks better and if you said Xbox 360 version looked better then people wouldn't even read your comment. So you gave "BOTH" when there is only 1 and 1 only : PS3.

IMHO, you're the real troll here f@ggot.

OGharryjoysticks5168d ago

The 360 screens are really on top

jack_burt0n5168d ago

only thing that stood out was the ps3 was vsynced and has intergrated youtube uploading and recording to the hdd which u can then export.

xaviertooth5168d ago

we have reached the point where ps3 by default has the miles better version.

to sum up:

1. in all backdrops, the 360 is very blurry.
2. ps3 has the better color palettes.
3. ps3 has the better texture.
4. in a lot of screens, noticeable are jaggyness in the 360 version while ps3 is very smooth all the way.
5. ps3 has the better lighting.
6. the ground are more detailed in the ps3 version.
7. agree with the above, water effects are incredible with the ps3; the 360 pales in comparison

sorry 360 fans. its over. now even multi-plats belongs to ps3. you only have america sales lead as your last straw.

The Yakuza Games

Haha, yeah, currently over 100 hours into Yakuza 0. Considering going for 100% and well on the way but may not get there. Cat Fights are a real chore.

blackblades483d ago

I use to be a trophy hunter, was getting around 20 to 30 platinums a year. Had a saying of Play-Beat-Platinum, play and enjoy the game like there wasn't no trophies, beat it and at least get 50% then look at them and see if I'll platinum and platinum it. I think death star was a pain, the servers was ending so i had to rush and play that for awhile none stop. NGs2 was hard because of that online trophy but easy if you had the partner that can do it for you while you grab the enemy attention. Grinding idk, death was grinding last one I had to grind for platinum literally 1 trophy needed was dungeon travler or something vita gave up on it. After that I stop trophy hunting get like a 1 platinum a year or 0.

Knushwood Butt483d ago

Yeah, if I enjoy a game I usually go for the platinum unless there are some unreasonable trophies in there.

For Yakuza 0 I've invested too much time in it to give up just yet and most of the content is good fun, apart from Cat Fighting which is broken and dull after a couple of fights.

DarXyde482d ago

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 was literally the last platinum I got on PS3. After that, I went into PS4 kinda deflated and getting them where it felt appropriate.

I genuinely HATED that platinum, but it was a personal challenge I took upon myself. It was a lot of "get 1,000 kills with [insert weapon]" and it got to be a bit tedious. Master Ninja really pissed me off, but the WORST which you alluded to was that bloody Gold trophy for missions that you needed to do online because the AI was useless and got wrecked in moments. I jumped on the game a bit late so I struggled with finding a partner for at least 1.5 months. After that, I burned out hard with trophy hunting. I still came back for games I really enjoyed (Bloodborne, Dark Souls III, Nier: Automata, and a few others that escape me) and low hanging fruit that was just a bit time consuming and I didn't want to buy new games at the time (Final Fantasy XV). Total, it becomes clear where I taper off since I've only plat'ed 33 games since there inception of trophies which really isn't much.

Screw Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 lol. That game was pure nightmare fuel.

blackblades483d ago

I say never force getting a platinum, its not worth the trouble definitely if it costing you to waste time on chore like grind. Those brainless design trophies.

hotnickles483d ago

Dead rising was the worst one I’ve ever tried. I haven’t tried it with the modern console “rest mode” but the 360 didn’t have that.

Duke19482d ago (Edited 482d ago )

Was GTa4 the on where you had to collect a shit ton of pigeons around the map and there was no help in finding them?

roadkillers482d ago

Yep. I’d say GTASA was more difficult since there were so many collectibles

Profchaos482d ago

The saving grace was that there was only on average 50 collectables with the two exceptions being graffiti and oysters from memory horseshoes and photos were capped at 50 each.

But for me it was all the other grind that was way more painful in SA like the car export lists which even with guides took way longer than collecting stuff

iivGHOST482d ago

There was a guide book that came out with the game that had all the pigeons in it. I actually still have it

Chocoburger482d ago

One of the more recent games I got a Platinum in was Killzone: Mercenary for Vita. What a crap game, that requires so much terrible grinding.

Awful game, awful experience.

outsider1624482d ago

Oh man..wish i could get a vita. I've been trying to get a preowned too(in my country) but no luck.

CantThinkOfAUsername482d ago

I can vouch for Just Cause 2. It was the reason I quit achievement hunting. 86 hours in, the game bugged on me during one of the last side quests (it failed no matter what I did) and my save file got corrupted. Wiped it off my drive and never looked back.

SonyStyled482d ago

I downloaded the ‘complete edition’ or whatever it was called for $2 about 7yrs ago in hopes of trophy hunting it for a platinum. It always sounded fun and I would like to commit time to it but not enough for a platinum trophy
