What is J!NX? DualShockers Interview Sean "Jinx" Gailey To Find out!

DualShockers writes:

Did you ever wonder what or who is behind the clothing company that gamers know and love as J!NX? I definitely wondered. I recently had the privilege to sit down with Sean "Jinx" Gailey, the Creative Overlord of J!NX, for a one on one interview. We discussed how J!NX came into existence, what their motivation is and what gamers can expect to see from upcoming lines (MLG and pro-gamer lines) and products. As Kyle McCarthy (J!NX's Deacon of Sales & Networking) refers to Sean "He's kind of the face of the company."

J!nx is awesome. I bought a bunch of T-shirts from there. They sell pretty funny gaming T's. J!nx and ThinkGeek.com are pretty cool sites for gaming apparel.

we'll actually be giving away gift certificates ($20-$50) to some lucky readers!

J!NX definitely has some great apparel for gamers. Very unique art and style. ThinkGeek has some amazing toys. God knows the amount of times I've purchased things from there (e.g. binary watch ftw!)

Jsynn75027d ago

@JoelT : I'll look into that but, when it comes to J!nx, I go all out. I spent close to $200 in one shot buying shirts there. Couldn't help it. They're just awesome.

@iiprotocolii: I bought the samurai sword umbrella from there. I actually brought it to work with me today. I work in NYC so thousands of people are seeing some dude walking through the streets with what looks like a sheathed sword in his hand is probably a little unsettling for them but I think it's too funny.

iiprotocolii5027d ago

lol we live in NYC too, Jsynn. Every time I buy apparel like that binary watch and go to bars in the village, I get some really funny looks. A lot like "Where the hell did he get that watch?" or, of course, "WTF is he doing with that watch?"

Very illuminating report about the J!NX company's inside workings as well as an interesting story about how they got started, what their plans are, and more.

Those are um... They're certainly something!

The Xbox controller looks better, logo is less intrusive.

Rebel_Scum2d ago

Hmph, you were lucky enough to be playing games with a yorkshire tea controller!

Back in my day we only had rectangular controllers that would give you blisters and wear your thumbs down to a nub!

Nintendo's New Contest Rules Harming Community Events

The new rules set by Japanese gaming giant, Nintendo, might threaten future content, directly impacting the profitability of many community-driven events.

"The profit of these tournaments is directly impacted by these new rules, as sponsorships are being forbidden, maximum prize money is limited to $5,000, and food/drinks can’t be sold at the tournaments."

Why even bother.

Inverno2d ago

1 thing I've realized over the years is that Nintendo likes bragging about "fun", but it's "fun" how they see fit, and they often go against their consumers for the dumbest reasons. Just gonna do this stuff underground style, who are Nintendo to stop anyone from organizing community based tournaments anyway? How does this actually hurt em?

Michiel19892d ago

They've always wanted smash to be seen as a fun, casual game and nothing remotely competitive, which is in stark contrast with how Sakurai develops smash. He puts in so many little things to master for high level competitors. It's just sad, especially for the melee community. They kept the community going for 2 decades now even while all the time nintendo was trying to sabotage them.
