Destructoid: White Knight Chronicles Review

Yes, White Knight Chronicles has some issues, including an unfinished story and some lack of polish. But there's a decent game here, too. Both the challenge and the story pick up as the game progresses. The hybrid JRPG/MMO battle system shows promise and the character customization options are surprisingly deep. The online modes also add quite a bit of value. Short? Yeah. Rough around the edges? Sure. But it's not a bad game.

Given the short main game length, a lower price point seems like it would have been more appropriate. If you're on the fence rental it first. This may not be what you're expecting.

So far This is game is pretty good. Its sorta short but the game really shines when you play online especially when you play the Higher level quests. You should definitely get this game if your into Jrpgs such as Final Fantasy 12 or .//Hack series, otherwise its better to wait and get FFXIII.

Anyways, can't wait for the second game in the White Knight Trilogy. Hopefully, it comes to look like what they wanted to do as shown by the 2006 E3 pre rendered trailer.

Also, I'm liking the Marketing for this game.

I can't believe how different it turned out from their original idea. The visuals in that version were really nice and the fight was extremely dynamic. The only things that turned out better were the look of the White Knight itself and the way you make combos rather than connect attacks.

A game that looked like that version would've been revolutionary.

Anyway, I'm happy with WKCs, it's very much an old type jrpg on new hardware (it doesn't take advantage of) but still a solid 8/10 from my point of view.

OMFG!
I just watched that second link and it was hilarious! I need to get back online.

I just beat the game and the ending was great and the sequel seems to be the very definition of epic!

The words from Grazel at the end of the game to his people about how things will change now that he has the Sun Incorruptus, man, I can't wait for the sequel! And there's still a knight that has to be unveiled.

But seriously I just can't understand how reviewers can hate so much on such a nice game.

Memorable Music in Gaming #21

Chalgyr's Game Room writes:

I am kicking things off by going back to a familiar well here - with a song from the Neverwinter Nights soundtrack. This is still arguably one of my favorite music scores in a video game ever, but I decided to lead off with it and then create something of a theme as I decided to pull all of this edition's songs from RPG games.

Neverwinter Nights (PC) - Battle - Forest Boss

I touched on the somewhat mystical quality of another Neverwinter Nights song last week when discussing City Docks Day. There were a lot of really good battle tunes in this one, but the Forest Boss song always stood out in my mind. The battle itself was not even the most memorable one, but right around the one minute mark, it reaches an epic level that just stuck with me.

The ten last-gen games that should have "HD Remasters"

Digitally Downloaded writes: "Below are the ten games we'd like to see make their way to the new generation of consoles this year. Or, perhaps, game collections that could be pulled together into a single disc package for even better value as we have seen other recent HD/ Remaster releases."

B-But FFXII isn't last-gen. I'd love to see it remastered regardless though. Brilliantly fun game, I just disliked the story unfortunately.

hkgamer3766d ago (Edited 3766d ago )

story was ok, but very unlike the other ff storylines where there is a clear villian.

i just want the game for vita/ps4. international zodiac version would be interesting to play but i hope that the original glitches(?) are still there.

i had more fun breaking the game then playing the game properly.

would also be cool if they added dual wielding. would make some rare weapons actually useful.

I really would like to see a HD Remaster of both Twilight Princess & Skyward Sword. Those games deserve to be in HD

Relientk773766d ago

Are you saying that they could make Ni no Kuni look even better, because I would like to see that.

hkgamer3766d ago

they could easily make that game look better. just make it as detailed as the animation. the 3d models had a lot less detail.

not saying it didnt look nice, just saying it could be improved a lot.
