Gamespot editorial director Jeff Gerstmann has announced that from early next week, GameSpot will give a facelift to the Gamespace pages. Those are the review, preview, and news-related pages that visitors see whenever they're looking for specific information about a single game. Part of this facelift is designed to give readers faster, easier access to the most important information GameSpot has on any given game. Part of this facelift will give readers things like larger screenshots in the bodies of stories, and other important design tweaks.
In the absence of sub-scores for graphics, sound, audio, etc., the reviews will also add a medal system to award games for specific merits such as graphics (artistic or technical). There are reportedly 60 medals currently planned, with room for later expansion.
