I still don't see how Pachter thinks Natal will be cheaper than Sony's solution when they are charging $100 for a hard drive!

Agent Smith5176d ago (Edited 5176d ago )

Wireless Adaptor: $100
Xbox Live Gold: $50
125 Harddrive: $125
Having to buy all this stuff at an expensive price: Too Damn Much

There are some things money can't buy, for everything else there's Mastercard.

-MD-5176d ago

Having to buy? I've had a 360 since launch and the only thing I bought on your list is Xbox Live (for 30$ not 50).

gaffyh5176d ago

@Murder - You don't need to use your multiple accounts to disagree with me. I'm just stating facts, and I saw the PSEye cam with Eyepet for less than the cost of a retail game. So I don't see how the PS3 motion controller + PSEye bundle will be more than ~$60, but I can see that being the case for Natal.

It's undeniable that MS love to rip off their customers when it comes to peripherals, I myself had to by 1 play and charge kit (and one battery only) for ~£40.

-MD-5176d ago (Edited 5176d ago )

I didn't disagree with you, I actually didn't even read your post I read the guys below yours and responded to it. To prove that I didn't disagree with you allow me to click disagree and bring that 5 up to a 6.

Maybe people don't like you or something.

Edit: I only have one account, I tried making a second one named (Selma Blair) but that was banned like within the hour about a month ago.

RROD Service_Rep5176d ago (Edited 5176d ago )

So Murder, you've spent $200 or $120(as you claim) for playing online, how does that make u feel?

-MD-5176d ago (Edited 5176d ago )

Doesn't make me feel anything, 120 bucks over the course of 5 years is nothing (less than 3 dollars a month).

Live is great, there's a reason 23 million people are on it.

captain015176d ago (Edited 5176d ago )

And yet it still outsells the PS3. PSN is free but LIVE still has more users. X360 is pirated but still sells more sofware. How does Microsoft do it?

Fox015176d ago (Edited 5176d ago )

So "RROD Service_Rep" you spent $600 on your PS3, how does that make you feel?

Conando5176d ago (Edited 5176d ago )

PSN is free, it's on the PSP and PS3, you can sign up for an account online, and multiple accounts are included in that number. Hell, I had at least 4 PSN accounts on my PS3 before I sold it, and I'm sure they're still counted even though I haven't logged in for over a year.

The 23 million number is for Xbox LIVE Gold accounts only. I doubt many people would have multiple paid accounts, now would they? And there's no handheld Xbox console with a 60 million user base that can connect to Xbox LIVE, like the PSP can connect to PSN.

I'd imagine there might be 20 million individual PSN members (connecting from the PS3) tops. And who knows how many of those even play online or have logged in for the past year? If they counted all Xbox LIVE accounts, Gold and Silver, and multiple accounts like Sony does, then there would probably be well over 50 million Xbox LIVE accounts.

lowcarb5176d ago (Edited 5176d ago )

"There are some things money can't buy, for everything else there's Mastercard."

Totally hilarious.

OT: I seriously hope MS makes all things NATAL and afterwards affordable for everyone. Right now I'm actually kind of interested in seeing what the Arc will offer. Sony may be out to prove a point and bring in all there guns come E3. The sad thing is no matter what either of them do Nintendo is still going to be on top. Sure wish MS pushed rare to really make Banjo 360's mascot.

edit fox01: thanks for trolling! ;)

Fox015176d ago (Edited 5176d ago )

X360's mascot is a green Power Ranger. Banjo doesn't stand a chance against it.

Digitaldude5175d ago

Why is everyone giving motion controls so much attention?

lowcarb5175d ago

"Why is everyone giving motion controls so much attention?"

Because people are interested in motion controls! There not replacing standard controllers so unless your interested why talk about it?

RROD Service_Rep5175d ago

"So "RROD Service_Rep" you spent $600 on your PS3, how does that make you feel? "

Now that you bring it up, good because I know I didn't spend $400 for a 360 + $200 on Live + $100 for a wifi adapter, and still not have bluray or media card readers or an HDMI port.

btw, I made no claims that I bought a launch ps3. I was responding to Murderdolls claims that he didn't spend much on overpriced "accessories" for his 360.

mikeslemonade5175d ago

It decides first place because the Wii doesn't count. Nintendo is dead after this generation anyway.

LOL Sony, Sony supporters and Sony fans think Sony's offering is in the same league as Natal. Natal will crush Sony's wand in hype, sales, demand, appeal, adoption.

Megaton5176d ago

Microsoft left that Kool Aid out for everyone, okay? Don't just drink it all yourself.

TheBand1t5176d ago (Edited 5176d ago )

LOL @ this 360 fanboy who actually thinks Natal will pull a Wii.

Note: This is not directed at those who are genuinely excited over the prospect of Natal, only those of a rabid nature who think it means the end of the competition.

-MD-5176d ago

I don't think anybody would argue which motion controller is going to be more successful between Natal and the wand.

Then again, this is N4G.

gauntletpython5176d ago

I think the Wand could do well, just because it's so similar to the Wii. People know what to expect - it's like the Wii in HD.

Natal is definitely more innovative, but we still don't know squat about it.

RROD Service_Rep5176d ago (Edited 5176d ago )

Natal = pre alpha product. They don't even have a version ready for mass production.

Microsoft is trying to get it out as early as possible so they can claim the casuals the wii hasn't taken. I wouldn't be surprised if its launch titles are ricochet and 5 shovel ware titles + UI integration.

gauntletpython5176d ago

What can you say about the PS3 wands? All they have are rehashes of Resident Evil and LBP...

THC CELL5176d ago

Natal will go down the hddvd path. Ps eye been out years

ReBurn5176d ago

And it's got what? Four? Five games? Most of which nobody has even heard of.

Yeah, that thing's been setting the world on fire. Not bashing you, THC. But there has never really been great support for peripherals like this, so I don't see how they'll decide anything.

Conando5176d ago

Oh, I must be maistaken. I didn't know that the PS Eyetoy could do trillions of calculations in three dimensions 30 times a second.

TheBand1t5176d ago

The question is Conando, could it do that before or after the chip was removed from the device?

RROD Service_Rep5175d ago (Edited 5175d ago )

I didn't know Natal could do that either. I thought all the raw processing went to the 360.

The PS Eye could easily replicate what Natal does through a simple firmware update because Natal is mostly software based.

And you know what? The ps3 could do Natal with less lag 360 because of its ultra fast XDR memory and its uber fast SPE calculations.
See lagless Eyepet vs Laggy Pre Alpha Natal

starchild5175d ago

Completely bogus. Companies would not spend millions of dollars trying to create something if the damn eyetoy could do the same thing.

Eyetoy cannot sense in 3 dimensions, it does not have the predictive software that accurately tracks and predicts the trajectory of your movements as you are doing them, it can't accurately track up to 4 people at a time, it doesn't have advanced voice recognition, and so on and so forth.

Natal is a new technology. That is why the Israeli company was working on it and that is why Microsoft has invested so much money in developing it.

ALFAxD_CENTAURO5176d ago (Edited 5176d ago )

I think is better the proyect in development for Recogniction Face/Voice and gameplay with Hand and Body only, and that is with PS3 development.

The ARC Controller, looks good, but I prefer the 1st option.

Natal looks good too.

Tales Of Graces Ƒ Retro Review – Holding Out For a Hero

Gary Green said: Namco Bandai heard the call of many fans asking for the PlayStation release of Tales of Graces which was originally released seemingly exclusively for the Wii back in 2009. If you’re acquainted with the Tales series then Graces f won’t be something entirely new to you, yet if you’re a newcomer then you’ll find a plethora of gameplay mechanics and nuances that distinguish this series from other JRPGs. While the game finds itself following the traditional archetype of JRPGs, such as a somewhat clichéd story, Graces has something to offer to both veterans and newcomers alike.

I agree, I consider the first one a cult classic already

isarai1d ago

You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is

CrimsonWing6910h ago

That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.

solideagle9h ago

Majority of the time it's true but if a company/publisher is big (in terms of money), they can take a hit or 2. e.g. I am not worried about Rebirth sales as Square will make Remake 3 anyway but if FF 17 doesn't sell then Square might need to look for alternative. <-- my humble opinion

Abnor_Mal9h ago

Doesn’t Microsoft own the IP now since they acquired Activision?

Abnor_Mal5h ago

Oh okay, Activision owned True Crime, but when that didn’t sell as intended it was canceled. Six months later Square Enix bought the rights and changed the title to Sleeping Dogs.*

*As per Wikipedia

boing18h ago(Edited 8h ago)

Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.

Was just thinking about this game and wishing I had a way to revisit it. The way EA scrubs these titles from existence once their licensing runs out is horrid.

Michiel198910h ago

there is a client made by modders and it also works online.

kevco3310h ago

Indeed. The game can still be played online on PC.

Xbox 360 players, though? Bang outta luck.
