Tony Hawks and Activision haven't finished yet, another game utilizing the board peripheral is due for release in winter this year. Although that game hasn't been confirmed as Ride 2.
This game was horrible wheres my Skate 3?
RIDE2? Rofl wtf, didn't the 1st one bomb? Unless it actually sold decent - how in the world and why in the world would Activision bring out another?
"Tony Hawk: Ride sold only 114,000 units across all three current-generation consoles in its November debut" http://technologizer.com/20...
it was a terrible game but consider that it sold 114k copies at 120 usd a copy the game made 13.6 mil. SO it could have actually made a profit. I agree that this game shouldnt get a sequel but they had other games planed using the peripheral they invested in, I think they said something about a snowboarding game and probably a terrible surfing game. sweet zombie jesus
A really bad decision. Hopefully it has a secondary option to use you controller instead of the peripheral. &@1 In May.
I think the whole point of the game is to use the peripheral. Otherwise, Skate 1&2 are your best options. Skate 3 is out soon as well.
Skate 3 FTW!
1080 degrees facepalm
Just die already!
I bet Activision hopes people care about their crap once all consoles do motion controls
I don't get how they thought a skateboarding video game for 120$ was a good idea.
It sold the best on Xbox 360
Not something to be proud of especially from your peers
Selling the most isn't something to be proud of?
Selling the most isn't always an accolade to be proud of, though pathetic fanboys who scrounge the bottom of the barrel will take anything with a smile on their faces. The way I look at it, the more a pathetic, broken game like Tony Hawk Ride sells, the greater a sense of caution will come upon Activision's consumer base the next time they see an Activision product (yeah MW2 is broken and all, but no need to bring that up. It did very well and I see no less for COD 7.) Bottom line: only desperate fanboys would be proud of a such a crappy game selling marginally or significantly better on their console of choice.
Of a terrible terrible video game? I'm glad you accept the Xbox fanbase has bad taste
Or common sense would tell you the 360 fanbase is bigger. Ride sold the most on Wii, guess why? It has the most players. Ride sold the 2nd most on 360, guess why? It had less players than Wii and more than PS3. Ride sold the worst on PS3, guess why? It had the least amount of players. o-w-n-e-d.
Ride sold the most on Wii, guess why? It is the shovelware capital of the console market, and Tony Hawk ride sucks and so therefore appeals to Wii owners the most Ride sold the 2nd most on 360, guess why? Because Halo ODST was already old news in November and the Xbox 360 "enthusiasts" had nothing better to look for. Ride sold the worst on PS3, guess why? PS3 owners have a lower tolerance for crappy games and had plenty of exclusive prime software to look for. So there you go. Super O-W-N-E-D
Even making sequels for absolute turds.
... PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT GAMERS TOLD YOU WAS WRONG WITH THE FIRST ONE... AND FIX IT.
Then they have to make a turn based racing game because EVERYTHING was wrong with the first game.
Wow... poor guy "Just doesn't get it"
to release a sequel to a series that is just a big gaping wound hemmoraging money.
These companies just don't get it. WE ARE ALL PERIPHERALED OUT!!! Who the hell needs another huge chunk of plastic to complicate their lives? Drums, guitars, tennis racquets, bats, swimming pools, mechanical bulls...WTF?!? They only push this crap on us because they make a ridiculous amount of money off of them, more so than software. I called the first one failing, and I call this one failing as well. Tony Hawk is so irrelevant at this point. Instead of trying to give fans a better game, he's become one of these corporate leeches trying to figure out a batter way to make you dish out more $ with every iteration of his flaccid franchise.
Considering the first one bombed, and this one will probably be $120 again, it's going to bomb again. Now, if they make a 3rd one, I will ROFL. Activision, just stop.
Plus it bombed badly. Theres just no way.
I guess they didn't get the memo that RIDE sucked. I wonder if they'll do the same thing for RIDE 2, hold back all the reviews until after the game is already out, so the first suckers buy it before the word is out. Really, how many copies did RIDE manage to sell? 200,000? LOL! I guess the $120 price tag was the real killer, though...
the first one was a major flop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! who bought this crap. man!!!!!!!!!!!! i tell you this gaming gen is the worst. developers are putting to much crappy games this gen. thanks wii. Miss the SNES vs sega days.
Surely they aren't that stupid. Can these guys not take a hint? I guess sense doesn't factor into Activisions decisions these days. Poor reviews + Poor sales = SEQUEL!!
Really?!! Wow! Just Wow!!
I think I just threw up a little...
It doesn't matter if a game does bad...but if the game has potential, you can bet there will be a second. That's what Activision or whoever thinks. The game can be good they just need to fix what was wrong with it.
